They were supposed to, as the idea was to have two first choice Irish players in every position. TH was the position they were citing as the raison d'etre of the rule.
But I guess they took a look at Rodney and said meh, we're covered.

So has that rule about only one NIQ player in each position just been quietly done away with?
I thought if Munster have Botha that means Leinster and Ulster can only have IQ tightheads.

Nah CJ played for Baby boks and he's a project player. South Afica's A team are the Emerging Springboks, there's also the President's XV which is effectively the B team, so I think its possible to play for the Presidents XV and still qualify for another nation but I haven't checked....

Ulster sign TH prop wiehahn Herbst from natal sharks as longterm replacement for afoa. He has played for the baby boks. Does that make him niq?

I hear from Corinthians people that's a done deal. Not really anything Corinthians or Connacht can do about it given the opportunity he's getting.

I think that he is predominantly a Loose Head, but can play TH.

Brumbies played him exclusively at Loosehead in his first season,

Then he missed most of the season just finished with a knee injury (requiring re-construction)..

Bray People wrote: I had a rough 2013 having had to undergo a knee reconstruction and missing nine months of rugby in rehab.

But if anything the injury has made me hungrier than ever to play the game. It is perhaps slightly short sited but my main aim is to have a big 2014!
