Not unexpected but sad none the less was a great player in his day its a shame he has to retire so young. Good Luck to him.

Its being announced officially today in a news conference and he will be sorely missed by Munster and Ireland.
I wish him well in the future.

Sorta knew this was coming a long time out, he hasn't been 100% at any stage in nearly three or four seasons. Says everything really that even allowing for Munster's back row depth and the excellence of the IRFU player management programmes we're still losing guys who should have another four to five years in them as elite players...

Very sad to hear, he played a significant part in some of our most successful seasons. Great player for Munster and Ireland, but obviously stuggled in the last year or so. Sad to see so many players having the decision made for them.
