I think he was a bit too fond of goin on the lash and there were a few incidents. Heard from a few different sources that was the problem and thats why he came to an end there

Hopefully a new beginning will suit him.

Bascially he was due to go to Narbonne on loan this season from Leinster, but arrived there and went on the lash. Not sure if it was pre or post Matt Williams arrival but if post he woudl have got very short shrift....

Don't get what happened at Leinster, I've seen him play loads of times and his Irish A cap isn't a fluke. He's Dan Tuouhy's equal that's for sure and better than Toner. Real waste of talent whatever happened...

I can't be sure, but I'd imagine any cash for ground upgrades would not be allowed to be used for players salaries. There are already IRFU rules in place that season tickets aren't allowed to be used.

With players due back (who knows when, but due back all the same) I guess EOD figured Wasps would be a good bet, they're losing/have lost Simon Shaw.

I would have thought, given we are operating on a budget prepared before HC qualification and the monetary boost that brought, allied to the fact that the government and union have paid for the Sportsground upgrades, that we'd have quite a wodge of dosh, for once. Of course the branch may be salting this away for next year (or Eric doesn't rate him, or Ed doesn't rate us, who knows?).

So why didn't we get him? Is he that bad? Strikes me with Browne and Nolan still out and McCarthy about to be suspended, we could have done with him.
