Never forgetting that he spent a lot of his time in Africa, working there. What a wonderful life, what a great example of how to spend your time here, how to live your life. Every passing is sad, but to have lived such a life and passed away with your family and loved ones near you. It is a life to be celebrated. A wonderful life. A great man. RIP

I had the great privilege of meeting Jack Kyle at a rugby charity dinner in Belfast a few years ago. A true gentlemen in every respect. May he rest in peace.

Way ahead of his time as a player. Legend. RIP

I'd say most sports events in UK and Ireland this weekend will rightly observe moments of silence for the passing of young Australian cricketer Phil Hughes, and all Rugby matches will also remember Dr Jack Kyle, Ireland's first Rugby superstar...

An incredible player and inspiration. I'm sure there will be a minutes silence at the Ulster-Munster game this eveving and well deserved it will be as well.

Yep, saw this on RTE FB page, very sad to see this very modest rugby genius pass.

But he reached a good age and had a great life in and after rugby. And in his passing he will have been delighted to see where Irish Rugby is now, and the level of talent that is still coming through. He inspired the generation that inspired other generations of Irish Rugby players
