Surprised Ulster didn't make a move for him after losing Pienaar for a bit. Marshall isn't cutting any mustard in the Pro12 and will hamper Ulsters chances in the HEC.

So what it comes down to is, he didn't want to retire, he just didn't want to play for us. We'll get over it
Given the small numbers Ireland have to pick from, and the fact that in patches in his injury-hit career he's looked really really good, it's nice to see him still in the pro ranks.
I think that it's likely Sale were on the lookout, don't blame him for leaving us he was down the pecking orders and only getting bit's and pieces of games. Sure if he was going to be playing AIL predominently then why not back home in Dublin..?? He's home and it seems to have helped him, just the way it works sometimes. Really think the move up north after serious injury was the undoing of him, he was too young..

Planet Rugby wrote: Sale have secured the loan signing of Leinster scrum-half Cillian Willis, who joins the club as cover for the injured Dwayne Peel and Scott Mathie.
The busy 26-year-old scrum-half joins Edgeley Park until the end of the season and made his debut late on against Saracens last weekend.
Injuries to Peel and Mathie meant that Will Cliff was their only remaining fit number nine so Sale executive director of sport Steve Diamond acted promptly to bring in Brian O'Driscoll's cousin
