I recall some time (middle of last decade I think as I moved back west in 2006) being in Kiely's after a hiding from Leinster, and he went round to the few scattered bands of green jerseys thanking people for showing up and supporting the team, bought a few pints too. Sound bloke.

About 7 (?) years ago I wrote to John Fallon asking if they charged for the team to sign a rugby ball for me. He said they didn't and to just leave off a ball and he'd pass it around. I bought the best ball I could find and left it off with a note saying how much Connacht Rugby meant to me.
A week later I get a call from Bernard Jackman, he was the team captain at the time. He said that he had the ball and it was all signed and he was going to drop it off to me at the house and where did I live. I told him I could just pick it up at the clubhouse but he said it wasn't a bother. Half an hour later he arrives at the house. We have a chat and he posed for a quick photo.
I was over the moon about the whole thing.

You lucky fecker. Not even having to give her the 100euro. When the heineken cup jersey come out i think ill try to get it signed by all the team and frame it. Will be hard getting it signed the old fashioned way one by one after games tho. Nice thing to haveI was at the Supporters' Launch Night in the Dail Bar last season with some friends and, during the very enjoyable evening, an English girl friend of my missus living here in Galway, won the Connacht shirt signed by the team in the raffle.
I offered to buy it off her for €100 (er...... if she's said yes, I might have negotiated a bit) but - although she doesn't really know the difference between rugby and soccer - she refused.
I was gutted - but very pleasantly surprised and delighted a couple of months later when she gave it to me as a Christmas present! It's now framed and proudly displayed in my hallway.
