I didn't see the game but zebo is reported to have impressed on his debut.

Halfpenny was doing the kicking and scored 30pts(2t,4con +4 pens). He still wasn't mom tho which was given to j Davies.

Lookin good for a series win maybe whitewash even.

I think Zebo is a magic footballer, but he doesn't look for work they way Trimble or McFadden does. I think he worked the least hardest of the Irish backs vs US. I'd lay odds that Trimble will have a fine game at weekend. He feels he has been dropped unfairly despite his club form, but he never complained and deserves his opportunity.

Announced it today there not replacing Zebo with Trimble coming into the team on the wing. Makes sense.

I'd have thought the Irish set up would make an announcement about that sooner rather than later.

I watched Kearney play against Georgia - he was our best player by a distance in a poor match. I'd get him across; the current wing options for Canada, etc are McFadden, Trimble, Jones and Henshaw and the latter two don't play a lot there.

Having said that, I'm delighted Zebo is gone to Oz. Brings something different that could cause the Ozzies to fear him. Hopefully.

I wonder will anyone be brought in to replace him in the Irish set-up? Dave Kearney or TOH perhaps?

Good point. Bringing in someone like Madigan who can play 10 and 15 might be an option worth considering.

It would seem to be between Visser, Ashton and Zebo for me at least and in that order. Visser fits what you've suggested, scores tries and can power through tackles 5-10m out to make sure he gets the try. Ashton also proven try scoring record, although not sure if he has really worked as well as expected with Farrell at Saracens/England. Zebo is slightly lower down because although he's a very good winger the other two have a more established try scoring record.

Also bringing only two fh's has already been shown as a huge mistake, it seemed like both Sexton and Farrell were fighting hamstring problems at the end of the game today. Even if they are fit by the next game there will be persistent doubts/concerns throughout the tour now.

Bowe is gone and now Jenkins as well. Grant is/has come in to replace him and someone will replace Bowe soon. Apart from Zebo who else do people see as a contender? Gatland likes big guys on the wing who can field high ball and use there physicality to make space because of this system the likes of Earls being called up are remote. Ironically the likes of Matt Banahan would fit Gatland's system perfectly. Zebo at 6'1 and having played fullback has a good chance. As does the physical Tim Visser.

SO who to bring out instead of Bowe if he is out? Zebo?

And why are their only 2 FHs on tour. He should rest both for the country match, let Hogg have a spin against them.

Warburton needs a lot more game time. And Cuthbert's defence was woeful. He has the turning circle of an oil tanker

Warburton not doing what could be done, IMO. big respect for the man, but was lacking today.

Any word on Bowe?

Breaking: looks like Tommy Bowes tour is over, Warren Gatland has confirmed he believes Bowe has a broken bone and needs operation #rterugby

Apparently Grant has actually come in as cover for Gethin Jenkins, who was supposed to start tomorrow but has suffered a calf injury. It doesn't seem as if he's been ruled out of the tour completely however. Looseheads dropping like flies!

yes Corbisiero added earlier this week. maybe gatland wants to have look at both!

Crudapples.

Terrible for any player to go home, but Healy was fighting for a test spot and from an Irish PoV it's always worse when it's one of our own. Bound to happen to some players in a tour like this but you alway hope it's not one of the Irish boys.

I wish the call-ups all the best. Not ideal circumstances to make the squad but it is still a dream come true for them.
