Leinster, Ulster and the IRFU all use GPS tracking to analyse the load on each player's body. By managing this the amount of soft tissue problems can be reduced and better managed.

Yes it's a contact sport, but in modern sports there are ways to do contact intelligently by utilising the latest technology.

It's a contact sport, there's going to be injuries. But as said above it's muscular injuries, pulls, strains etc. As for franky if he wasn't fit he shouldn't have been on the plane. It's that simple

I agree Salmson, but why do we have so many hamstring injuries ??? surely the guys all warm up correctly, so therefor we shouldn't have as many niggling injuries as we do.(they are proffesional after all).
In my oppinion impact injuries is a thing you expect at this stage of a season not basic muscular injuries. This shouldn't be a problem after pre-season.
Last I heard Dave Moore was fit !!!!and as you say Frank has not been fit for some time.

I agree Caulk, surely the amount of contact at the start of the season has to be curtailed? I looked at all those pre season photos of the lads beating 7 bells out of each other and thinking "save lots of that for a long road ahead"

The academy lads and development squads that I have seen get very physical as well.

They know better for sure as they are professionals but I would have thought that fitness and conditioning was the order of the day and getting them to the league games in top shape was the objective. We need them fit.

I'd imagine out of all our banged up scrum halves he was the least banged up. Sure even Marmion was carrying a knock it would seem as he was taken off at HT. I'd love to know what our training consists of to have so many injuries...
