Being fair I don't think most of us know enough about Poolman to know what position they are looking at him for. 12 is a position I'd like to see Jarvis given a chance if we can show some level of consistency in his game. From what I've seen of him as a distributor I think his passing can provide outside him that extra split second that we need to unlock defences but he has it all to prove yet.

McSharry and Tonetti are two players I'd rate highly also, we are looking alright at centre.

For me scrum half is much more of a worry. None of our scrum halfs did enough on a consistent basis imo last season. Maybe the fact Frank Murphy will be out of contract next summer may focus his mind more.

I think it depends on the type of 12 we want. For power I'd go with Poolman but for soft hands etc probably Tonetti. It's good that we've options this year though.

McCrea played at alot at 12 with Malone in the AIL

I'd see Tonetti and Griffin as being our best midfield, but maybe Poolman can be given an opportunity at 12 as well

everybody would agree we've made a great recruitment spring, but how to cope with Henry Fa'hafili departure, who was able to attract two or 3 players on him, and sometime offload..? we desparately need our future 12 learn this.. who are the most promising ones?

my choices :

1 Dave Sharry : our only pure 12
2 Kyle Tonettti : trainned as 12 in Leinster A
3 Matthew Jarvis : could be a 10/12, fly-half and inside "kicking" center à la Paddy Wallace
4 Mark Mc Crea : experience and gametime at outside center in Ulster, good proportion to move into 12 in case of multiple injuries : Height 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in) Weight 14 st 5 lb (92 kg)

I would keep the young Poolman as 14 or 13, for the moment..

And B.Murphy + T.Leader for B&I cup
