Doubt it. But with loan spells now a valid part of rugby with stringer going to Saracens, it would be great if everyone agreed its better for him, for us and for Irish rugby as a whole that he gets regular HEC games. If he came west he would get to play against Toulouse, not cornish pirates!

If we had won against Ospreys or Treviso or both like we should have id say the attendance would have been up at 7 or 8k.
Hard for the new fans to go see a team losing week in week out!!
We need victories to keep the new fans.
New fans means more revenue which means better EVERYTHING !!!!!
Put Jarvis at 10 and teach Rodney how to throw a ball and make him a hooker because he is a great ball carrier but cannot scrummage.New TH please !!!

I was disappointed when I heard the attendance figure, it looked like there was more from where I was standing.
I guess the previous 8 defeats didn't help the cause...

Only our second ever HEC home match and half the numbers for the Toulouse game is awful.

I agree, and it gives the IRFU and the other provinces a stick to beat us with when we're looking for more money. I think there was only about 500 Glos fans though, but still under 5,000 Connacht fans is poor

I agree wit a lot of comments already made. Yesterday was there for the winning again but we failed to even get in front at any stage. Thats down to a lack of leadership in general and at 10 in particular.
There was a 10 min period immediately after we brought it to a 1 pt game when we were camped in their 22 but o connor never took on the posts once in spite of being in excellent field position on more than 1 occasion. If he doesnt understand the need to get in front and reward his forwards efforts he doesnt deserve jersey. We spent the bones of 15 min in their half and got no points. O connor has to be held accountable for that. Same in first 10 min of game. His first kick at goal was the effort of an away team kicker visiting the sportsground for the first time. He puts way too much height on his kicks which tells me that he is not adapting to the conditions of the sportsground and thats on him and eric for sticking with him.

On a positive for him his restarts and garryowens were very good all day and were an effective tactic giving us good field position but then he goes and launches a garryowen in the last play of the game when we needed to hold onto posession and basically surrenders which tells me that he lacks understanding about the game and his responsibilities as a 10 in it.

Rodney ahyou was destroyed again in scrum. Scrum was under pressure in first half but did ok. 2nd half it was a disaster and that was all down to rodney. He either stood up, went down or turned in. The Gloucester fans near me were having a right laugh at him and yoy just knew a penalty was coming every time. Its a bad job when your 2nd choice loose head does a better job at tighthaed than your 1st choice there. It allowed Gloucester to see out the game comfortably as it took the sting out our attack and the penalties gave them good field position.

This was a good competitive game of rugby with 2 evenly matched teams. They won because of our deficiencies at tighthead and outhalf. Unfortunately it will continue until management recognise this and act. I can see this loosing run going to 12 games at least.

The game today was a step on preformances over the last couple of weeks. I thought there were some good individual showings but we had no real platform to attack from. We really missed Swift in the scrum which was on the back foot all day. I know that Gloucester aren't the best team in the world but they are physical and well drilled. AS other people have said I though George looked more eager than of late to get his lands on the ball and Muldoon and McCarthy gave absolutely everyhting and put in great shows. I though Murphy made the best of a hard day at the office and his passing way crisp. It was great to see McKeon back and he looked hungry after the lay off. In the back line I though McSharry was really good again and is growing with each game and McCrea showed a few nice touches. Duffy was an inspiration again.

I think there is one reason alone why we did not dominate this game and that was the scrum. We gave away penalities and gave them field position and even on our put in we had no stable platform. Our defense was great. Hard to take another loss.

I dont even want to talk about the officials other than to say that he shouldn't be allowed call bingo nevermind a top level H Cup game.

Paterson was appalling. He gave 3 penalties against us in the 1st half at the breakdown when each time we had a player on his feet who wan't the tackler through the gate. We were not allowed to compete at the breakdown, Paterson made sure of it, and because of these penos we had to back off at the breakdown and they got quick ball.

He called back McCrea when he was clean through for an offside, yet he wasn't playing advantage at the time. Very convenient. He missed 2 blatant knock ons under his nose in the ruck by Gloucester going forward yet he calls Fetu'us as forward?

Sick of it now.

Other than that we upped it alot and were alot better today. Fetu'u looked dangerous, although defensively he'll be targetted. Muldoon was superb, McSharry did well, especially in defence, Duffy was excellent. George improved.McKeon looked good

Lack of quick ball killed any penetration, we need to be better clearing out. O Connor had another poor game at 10, he has to be dropped. Provided we have a can get a clean enough bill of health and hopefully have Concrete and Griffin back, there's no reason why we shouldn't go close in Kingsholm

Very dissapointing, the performance level was upped a notch or two from the last couple of weeks but as usual we shot ourselves in the foot with silly mistakes. Really it has to be strikingly obvious to the management team that we need a tighthead. Our scrum was pulvarised, even more so when Rodney came on. Gloucester worked their rolling maul effectively but they are a fairly average side.

At half back again we lack direction, I think we can see that our backs can cause trouble with the right ball but our 9 and 10 options give us no chance. Jarvis can feel really hard done by.

One major positive was Eoin McKeown, this lad looks more and more impressive each occasion I see him, he can be the successor to John Muldoon in the pack if he continues to progress in his current manner. Gannon is playing well, George showed a bit better today. Muldoon lead from the front. Some good individual efforts but no overall cohesion.

Another frustrating afternoon.
