Ya I fully agree. A big night in the Sportsground with a full Clan Stand would be amazing. Also as a part of a night in Murtys and town with restrictions lifted would be just great.
I am very annoyed by this I must say. It's not like Connacht to do something like this, the sense of pride in our community and our 5 counties is something they talk about and I buy into. Even something like landing in Knock rather than Shannon or Dublin after winning the pro 12 is the kind of thing I lap up and love when they do that kind of thing. To just forfeit home advantage to a rival is fairly pathetic. Things like "Newbride or nowhere" come to mind as a complete contrast to this.

To give away a home game, an interpro, the first interpro back after all that's happened.
So disheartening. Always support but yeesh, this is a hard one to fathom for me.
Really sucks that we wont have the clan stand roar the first opportunity of full capacity. Instead will be spread out in a cavernous leinster stadium.

The losses in the last 2 years greatly exceed the generous deferral from us season ticketers. Potentially even the 80% temp payment deferred by the players will only do so much.
My sneaking suspicion is they may have been tipped off the 50% capacity for large events may be extended and would rather chance 20k than 2.5k at a home game. That's just me speculating of course.
What I would recommend is that all 2,500 of us make sure to buy a few concessions in the next couple of home games. It all helps.

I am very annoyed about this for a few reasons.
1. Connacht are giving up a competitive advantage by forfeiting a home game. This is even more important in regard to European Cup qualification next year vs other provinces.
2. I cannot see 20,000 or anywhere near it at the game but if there are that many, Connacht will be outnumbered.
3. I understand that this is to raise finances but I wrote off the end of 2019/20 season's ticket and I deferred last year's because I like to support them. To move a big game like this away is not a nice acknowledgement of that.
Were the Connacht Clan consulted and if so, why were members not?
