Some of our missed kicks were sinful - they really were!!

Momentum taken out of the side with each miss.

Everyone who knows Connacht knows that every point counts and we left points behind today which ultimately cost us..

Missed conversions and penalty killed us. Heads dropped after each miss. Frankly is not good enough and unless we get a reliable kicker we are going nowhere.

Missed opportunities sums up today.
Missed out on a chance of top tier Europe Rugby
Missed out on making up on a poor season.
Missed out giving Muldoon his last European victory with Connacht

McKeon was massive at 6, best back row on the pitch. Other 5 back rows cancel each other out

Gavin Thornbury had a solid game, justified his starting role.
Quinn was steady, poor Ultan was not a at the races he tried his best. Just did not work

Front row did their job

Half backs had moments of brilliance and car crashes at the same time.
Not sure how it happened but when we got quick ball we looked dangerous. When it was slow we looked like a J1 team

This passed onto midfield.

If the back 3 got more ball, we could have scored 2 to 3 times more. They looked like their old selves just got poor ball

Happy with the fight, just the handling of the management of the game was below par.

Forums on 42.ie blaming missed kicks.
We missed 1 more than they did.
We lost by more than 3 points.

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

A game to sum up the season really. I know a win here would have put us close enough to Champions Cup qualification due to the ludicrous 20th place team rule but we got what we deserved today and over the course of the season. I genuinely don't see where this team is heading.

Thornbury is still young for a lock and he's starting to find form. He deserves the start.

Dillane has understandably had a few weeks off and would make a better impact off the bench than Thornbury anyways so I think it's a solid shout.

Is Cannon injured?

Reports are that ultan did not start due to lack of game time

Looks like we have more internationals than they have! Usually only happens when we're playing Dragons.

They have 7 starting (5 in the pack, 2 in the backs) while we have 8 (3 up front & 5 of our 7 backs). Both teams have two internationals on the bench. I'm sure if I did a caps count though they'd have way more than us.

King Prawn Bhuna wrote: Good to see you Galway boys and the bookies full of confidence, gonna be tough one for Gloucester . Only Hibbard looks to be missing from selection so it should be a good team we're sending over. Looking forward to meeting up with some you before, during and after for a beer or three. Hope the weather's better than last time we came over...but the result's the same. Have a great game ......

...any advice on pubs and food greatly appreciated.

Pop into Murty Rabbitt's tomorrow for the Scarlets v La Rochelle game at 5.30 if you're about. I think some of the other Glaws fans were talking about coming in. One or two of us should be in there anyway (well maybe just me) ...
