Agreed, I think we should be very happy with this result. It wasn't a brilliant performance by any means but I would have been more than happy to accept the four points before kick-off. Will be tough in Bloomfontein though.

After the result against Zebre the win was vital whatever about the performance which won't live long in the memory.
I think we must remember Treviso were on a bit
of a winning run and certainly did not fear a Connacht team with fragile confidence rolling into town.

Don't get me wrong. This win is massive for confidence before CC QF
But we've been as poor as we were vs Zebre.

'Lamish" horizontal attacking game. Conceeding 30 meters in defensive phases because we're only able to tackle legs, and allow offloads. Can't evacuate the ball from our maul. Lineout fragile. McCartney/Bealham far from what they were. Blade/Cannon are too slow to execute. Kelleher is unable to tackle.

Can't pronounce ourselves for Buckley/Dillane/Butler/TOH as they're just back.
The only two players who were going well on the last 2 Italian games are SOB and Healy. Griffin not as bad as some said here, decent enough IMO

I know we'll have Marms/Aki/Roux but we can't only rely on 3 international players to change the performances. Massive improvement needed to beat Gloucester

Connacht seem to play a stand off and keep shape defence at present and it allows attacking teams to stay on the front foot. If you were still watching, the last Treviso tray was really sloppy defending which is becoming a theme.

Of everything I think it pisses me off the most how easily we let every team we play against march over the gainline. Like McCartney letting a scrumhalf run straight through him for the try there.

Like it was said above really surprised to see TOH back as it was being rumoured that he may miss the Gloucester game, hope that Buckley hits the ground running as I feel we've missed him massively the last while. Any word on who the others that made up this touring squad were.

That's a decent Connacht side. Wasn't expecting TOH to be included since the update only had him down as nearing a return, hope he and a couple other returnees aren't being rushed back. Need a couple of strong performances on this "tour" to get themselves right for Gloucester as, looking at their remain league fixtures, Europe gives them the only realistic chance to add some respectability to this season.

The 25 to south Africa is imposed by the Pro 14 as they are paying the travel bill

ya makes sense, but even heading off to South Africa with 25 could be dodgy if there were to be one or two last minute injuries

I think I read in the Indo last week that Tim Alnutt said if there are injuries picked up in Italy there is a plan for replacements to be flown in to South Africa.
