The days of a free ticket, pint etc are well gone. Success and increased interest from the the Fair Weather supporter, the corporate sector and more ticket sales has made the sales office smug. Anyone who got the Gift bag at start of the season would have been very disappointed ; the little note book, nicely boxed, was a waste of money. I thought it was a diary. I gave mine ( we got 3 in my house) to a toddler to scribble in. He loved it. I think he also found it rather tasty, chewing on the corner. I think we can expect less over the coming years in the way of anything free.
Going to the Sportsgrounds is a bit like Mass:You stay until the players are off the pitch and never leave early!
