Ahki was on the pitch when the clock still had a minute on Griffin's sinbin, so probably wrong for Williams too.

I had thought that Williams was only off for 9 minutes but then thought that was maybe a mistake with the TV clock, ya he deserved a yellow, but more probably for what looked to be a late no arms tackle on Muldoon, the push on Masterson wasn't even a penalty so that's where I think the ref went wrong, but overall I just felt he'd lost control of the game and had respect from nobody on the field, even his handling of a couple of TMO decisions was very much "I don't know what I'm doing here so you make the decision". But we'll have to regroup fast as next weekends fixture could be a very tough one away to Zebre and is realistically one we now need 5 from rather than just getting the win. All the while Cheetahs have their gimmes coming in the form of two extra Kings games so catching them looks like it's nearly a lost cause. I'd never give up hope and on the positive side of things Ahki looked good, Farrell started the game very well our scrum was once again solid, we got a decent maul going in the second half, Roux and Cannon showed some solidity in the second row and we still took 2 points which if you're going to lose is a good as it can be, especially as they didn't take the BP. However, it's still another chance gone a begging.

Blade can't pass off his left hand to anywhere near the required standard, puts the receivers under so much pressure.

9 minute sin bin for Nick Williams at the end summed up an entertaining but poor standard spectacle. Extremely frustrating performance. Ponderous in attack. Poor exit strategy. Defensively we looked like conceding at every turn. If we'd beaten them in Galway this result would be easier to stomach but it's an upward struggle from here. Must win the next 4 during December to keep us alive in both competitions.

I feel for Griffin, but he looks all lost. Blade is not consistent enough.

The ref did alright, the Williams yellow was cumulative, he had given away several petulant penalties and the ref had enough.

The attack will improve when we a few more creative players return..., but what was really worrying was that our defensive structure that was serving us well the last few games was totally abandoned. Healy will do well to keep his place for much longer, he is offering nothing out wide an his defense is becoming an issue.

That today was not simply a missed opportunity but a wasted opportunity, we really left three points behind us there, and should have had a 5-0 over Cardiff instead we've gone down 4-2 in match points, that's huge and we'll now need to win some big games again to get back to European places, some very sloppy play, but it has to be said the referee was abysmal, for both sides. How he judged that Williams should have got a yellow is beyond be but also some of the decisions that went against us were crazy, it showed that it was his first game. I really wish I'd been a neutral watching that because I'm sure it was entertaining but from a Connacht perspective given that games importance it was totally infuriating.

4 tries and 30 points creates the illusion that our attack was good today, but in reality we created nothing in phase play until Pita Ahki decided to run half the pitch on his own on 75 minutes.

Crazy game in Cardiff

Cardiff have just been 100% clinical, I honestly can't think of a time they have had an attack and not got atleast a 3 pointer.

Connacht are just as dumb in this game as they were in the home game.
