He'll be 31 & just over 3 years out from the next World Cup by the time his Bristol contract is up. Can't see him wearing a green shirt again.

He could wear the Green of Connacht if English/Mercenaries team (like Narbonne...) don't want him anymore as 30+ flyhalf.
I'd prefer to have Steenson in 2018 TBF

Yeah, I think the time to come back was now if he/ IRFU were serious.

Hasn't happened so I expect he is done. Of course, he may have the chance in 3 years of a provincial move, but if it didn't happen now, what is to suggest it will happen then?

500k a year makes most things good enough. Best of luck to him I hope he does well.

funny how a year or so ago Madigan said that Bristol weren't good enough for him.

Got to think that he sniffed around for a chance at Connacht and as soon as he didn't get a good response, he went ahead with a UK team?

Otherwise what was all that muck last week in the media about!!!!

Must be a completely different one since it managed to get this one right.

Not surprised he has gone there. But am a bit disappointed he is lost to the Irish system really.

It's not like we produce a crazy amount of top players and you could argue whether he is a top player or not, but the fact remains that we will have a kiwi at 10 in Munster and a south african at 10 in Connacht next year.

That is a bit of a shame regardless if you love or hate Madigan.

Anyway, onwards and upwards and good look to him.

As long as Lam does not take "real" Connacht players...

Mad-dog from facing the best in RWC to playing Esher on a wet friday night. Crazy, money does rugby silly. 70-3 will be a regular score. A clear and low salary cap should be introduced in 2nd tier championship. My opinion
