Each match a different process and structure is developed and devised and they go from that.
Obviously we'd love to see a bit more of a prgmatic approach at times, but when you've fully bought into a system and process and it won you the league you're not going to do a 180 and deviate drastically from it.
The was a Connacht Way. This was a way of here are our cast offs, if you make them good how dare you keep them. They were ours first. Along with targetting games. That WAS the way, but it's different now and all the structures are in place to keep it different.

Personally I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty. If a coach like Lancester expresses an interest in the job and looks to tweak Connacht's style to make it more pragmatic I'm all for it if it means we win more often and are more competitive in both the Pro 12 and Champions Cup.

As I said to the mods by MP
I'm sorry if "name-dropping" about Englishmen seemed insistant, that wasn't my intention at all.
Before, it was just a stupid last word to say I'm really not a fan of Lancaster, failed with the home RWC in England, and has not "Connacht style of coaching/play" IMO
But I really love Swift, Cannon etc, and never ever thought anything bad about them !
Glad to be here again, for such a crucial period!

At this rate, by process of elimination alone, we should know the next Connacht head coach by tomorrow night.

Appointing a coach who'd arrive 2-4 weeks before the season starts is a disastrous idea. We of all teams should be well aware of the damage a foreshortened and poorly organised pre-season can do. Hopefully this is just agent talk as Brown negotiates with the Highlanders.
Yep agreed, we saw this season how a full pre-season program is key to a good start. If the head coach isn't available for a full pre-season then he's not a realistic candidate imo regardless of CV...

Betty Swallocks wrote: If true this is wonderful. Good relationship with Schmidt. Well-respected Kiwi. May even get Bundee to stay!
Bundee's signed up for three and a half more seasons, and the IRFU doesn't auction its stars. This isn't soccer, you know!
