My only concern on Jackman is that he would be sooooo technical.

My impression of him is that he is an excellent analyst of the game and technically very up to date (I have regularly heard him say he was just in the Southern Hemisphere for 2 weeks training/shadowing coaches).....which Pat was...

But would he be as passionate as Pat and as inspiring. Although who is in fairness...

Really don't think Jackman is the man. He's currently rock bottom of the Top 14 despite having the 9th biggest budget, and while the budget was higher in previous years Grenoble have finished 10th or 11th every year. They've underperformed their budget consistently in the time Jackman's been on their coaching staff. I'm sure that's not entirely down to him, but I don't think anyone would be getting excited about the Pau or Worcester coach putting himself forward.

Presume everyone has seen Pat's interview.
No wonder the team have achieved so much, I'd go through a brick wall for him after seeing that.
Very emotional, lots of class, really care's.
Can totally empathise with the looking after his families future vibe.

That gentleman should be bronzed.

I'd imagine Pat will have a say in who follows, his thoughts could be interesting. Would be great if the new guy could start early in new year, like Pat himself did and get the feel of the place.

Jackman has declared his interest pretty clearly here. If Gibbes story has any truth to it, he'd be up there with Lancaster as my preferences

To be fair its Murray Kinsella and hes the best rugby journalist out there and very rarely prints anything without foundation so Id be taking it as it is and that is " he's in the mix" nothing more or nothing less.

This guy looks good. I would prefer a tried and trusted head coach rather than someone stepping up to a lead role. But he has experience of winning which is what we want.

And Jackman in a interview in French seems heavily involved with Grenoble. Might change with relegation though. Anyway the 2 favourite coaches aren't anymore, which is good, we can have better

Good luck to Pat, he's been an absolute legend.

Moving forward, as much as a quality head coach we need top quality, innovative unit coaches. It wasn't just Pat that brought us success, it was the whole coaching team and whoever takes over needs to be surrounded by the best.
