in terms of our season it was a huge call, i wonder would it have gone the other way if it had happened away from home. i've seen the pic with Marmions hand on Davis back as his knee touches the ground but if the try had been given I'm not sure I would have been calling foul

I'm sure they feel the try would have changed everything and they would have pushed on for the full 5 points. Was world rugby consulted about not taking a penalty on the mark? As plenty have said calls go against teams all the time, we're still owed a dozen or more.

And all this over two bonus points. Ridiculous.

This season alone of the top of my head we have Scarlets away with Masterson try not given, we have Leinster away with VfF try somehow given and Munster away we have Penalty Try of the Year from Whitehouse
Think we'd 2 dodgy calls in Newcastle away aswell but no video coverage so don't know how viable they are

The Welsh, they win 1 game, they'll win the pro12, the champions cup, the 6 nations, the world cup.
They lose 1 game, Irish against them, everyone is against them, they don't want to be in pro12 anymore, they want get rid of regions, football should be the only sport in Wales.

I haven't seen anyone with bigger mood swings the Welsh rugby fans. Simon Thomas is usually on the ball but seems to be running with this debate as if his career depended on it.

Found this on that bastion of objective analysis Gwladrugby of all places.

Looks like clear evidence that the decision to disallow Davies' try was 100% correct.

I'm going to save that on my phone for that inevitable day, ten years from now, when I meet an Ospreys fan still bitter about being robbed by the Irish team of officials.

Marmion has hold of Davies when Davies knee hits the deck = it's a tackle and Davies must release the ball
I didn't think it was in real time, and had it happened in open play I doubt Clancy would have called it - but technically it was the right call

Y

Yep if he'd released and picked up the ball he'd have been fine, but he just went again..
Fine margins (and let's be honest a whole sh1t$ load of bad calls) over the years have absolutely killed us many's the time...

Someone else's turn this week.

Sorta gladdens my heart to see all their whinging about it, to Pro12 and anyone who'd listen. Because the Welsh were happy enough to keep schtum when we were being absolutely hammered by the WRU refs appointed for the region's home games..

Can't be just one team pointing out refereeing anomalies to effect proper change, even if in this case the ref was correct...

It was the correct call. It's as pedantic an interpretation of the law as you'll see but we've been the victim of that many, many times before so I have no sympathy for the hysterically outraged Ospreys fans all over twitter. Were they complaining about neutral refs when we were getting shafted in Wales? The other side of the coin is how quickly Poite pinged CJ Stander for not rolling away after the tackle early in the England Ireland game, you're talking about seconds in the difference.

Anyway, another great result and another herculean effort from the lads. The atmosphere was electric in the main stand, as loud as I can remember it in a long time. I keep having to pinch myself every time I see that league table! Roll on Edinburgh

Anyone know how long it takes TG4 to get games up on player? Scarlets and Zebre games still there but no sign of this week's coverage. I'm on Sky so I couldn't record the game, wouldn't mind a look back at it.

Hang on, what? Last week we were told he was looking at 18 months out.

Where did you see that? Don't recall seeing anything last week putting a time frame on on it?

Linley and Dave reporting an unsurprisingly high injury count from Saturday's epic - Niyi, Ben Marshall, and Caolin all undergoing HIA protocols (short turnaround and away game so I doubt we'll see any of them), Mul's hammy still being monitorred, but Quinn and Eoin Mc definitely back for Edinburgh. John Cooney - Leinster; Jack - before season's end; Eoghan - successful knee surgery, December.
