So once they recover from the jet lag, and whatever a series of long haul flights does to professional sportsmen, are they returning from Siberia without any injuries?

That would be a remarkable achievement in its self.

Great to get a bonus point I would have been happy with an injury free win. But seems we've gone one further than that.

Don't think so, it was a live feed only...!

No, the feed on the home page still works. The first 18 minutes is just lads clearing snow off the pitch. Then there is a brief montage from the Siberian tourist board and then a rugby match eventually breaks out. In fairness it's more entertaining than watching Brian O'Driscoll wandering around interviewing lads during the warm-up.

Good stuff...
I'd skip to minute 68' though, nit much to see up to that.... ;)

12 Peter Robb - meters run 55 carries 7 defenders beaten 6 clean breaks 1 passes 1 kicks 0
tackles 8 missed nil

This guy doesn't know how to pass or kick, but he's a beast, in attack and defence!!!

Decent highlights here anyway.

Better than what we usually get from the Pro12.

Flight due to leave at 9pm, I believe they were in the airport for at least 3hours. They got a different hotel. Drive to airport is 30-40 minutes.

Also, there'll be no stories back. What happens in Siberia, stays in Siberia.

Anyone have information on what's going on in Siberia? Connacht tweeted that their plane has a technical fault and they have to stay "at least another night?"

Did they get to the airport and have to return to their hotel etc? How far is it from airport to hotel?

Great turn around in the second half. Sounded like a very professional performance which is great. I'd put the turn around to a huge kick up the behind, and being able to communicate the analysis throughout the coaching staff. Weren't all computers frozen so nothing could be analysed in real time. So get in talk then out again.

I hope no more games are played there during winter, surely it has to be said that it's dangerous, great attempt but really player safety has to be paramount. And no way that pitch was safe.

Wish I could have gone but thems the breaks.

Fair play everyone over there you were well heard!

I could be wrong but I can't see them presenting Brive or Newcastle with serious problems.
The games will be effectively in a neutral venue, in normal rugby season conditions, with a minuscule crowd and will take place even deeper into Enisei's off-season. I think today was their big chance at points. If they'd drawn Brive for this game they'd have been in with a big shout, but their chances will diminish as the winter wears on.

Sounds heavenly! Would take that over a wet and windy Galway too.
The official attendance on the EPC rugby website is down as 2500, so much for the sell out. Well done to the supporters who travelled, there'll be some stories to tell no doubt. Well done to the team for getting the job done in such conditions, they'll never be as cold again!

It's 12 degrees in Sochi now. Sunny, with a gentle breeze.
Let's go to Sochi.

What you're saying is that we need a Leitrim player in the tight five? :)

Very cool how we finished this game with front row of Galway / Mayo / Sligo and second row of Galway / Roscommon

Proper Professional performance out there today, thought Peter Robb and Ultan Dillane were brilliant.
AJ was very impressive also

Borders no.2 wrote: Fair play to Enesei they kept pushing and deserved their scores but from our point of view it went as well as we could have hoped. Brive and Newcastle have to go there and it won't be easy get 5.

At shortly after 9.30 on a Saturday morning in Siberia Connacht have made history, its apt that it happened in these circumstances.

We move on to Brive next weekend and hopefully another step towards the quarter finals.
