The IRFU's decision to enter Provincial A sides has led to almost complete indifference to the competition amongst Irish supporters. If Wales follow suit and with Scottish teams not in it anymore, the English Championship sides will be the only proper teams in it and it will probably collapse.
I think it would be a better competition if there were AIL sides in instead of provinces though I appreciate that is probably not financially viable.
Ponty put in a serious performance both on and off the field in Galway. A few people commented we should have put the A side out against La Rochelle the previous day and kept the senior team for Sunday
We tried our best, we are passionate about rugby, which the regions struggle with as there is no feeling of belonging. I went to the game v La Rochelle on the Saturday and agree with you, think we would have give the French a run for their money.

I've never seen a group of people so happy to see a bar open.
Ha we were trying to get in the pubs at 10am, didn't realise the law was different in Ireland on a Sunday.

The Welsh regions want to replace the premiership teams with regional A sides in the competition. We had about 800 supporters in Galway for that BIC game and the regions struggle to get 100 for their first side in an away European game, never mind for an A side. If the proposal is accepted and i'm sure the WRU will agree with the regions then this will not only be damaging to welsh rugby but also for the other clubs in the BIC. It will mean poorer competition, poorer support, poorer atmosphere, poorer money generated from the gate and obviously poorer money generated from bar sales.
The reason I am sharing this with you is that Pontypridd RFC are fighting to stay in the competition as it means everything to the club, players and supporters. We received some lovely comments from your supporters after our match, my favorite being "Ponty supporters are wonderfully nuts". We hope that you agree that the competition is better for all involved not to have these development sides that nobody will turn up for and that passionate clubs like Ponty are what is best for the competition . If so we ask if you could please sign this petition in the hope that for once the WRU will listen to supporters. rivoice.net/petitions/stop-regions-takin...itish-irish-cup.html

Thank you all for your time and hope to see you again watching the game we all love.
