We really have to come away with the 5 points this evening.

I'd take four now....the dragons aren't going away, lead only 5 now

Agreed ... they need to keep level heads and discipline now.

We've taken the sting out of the game which is good.

Yeah, a few territorial kicks, make them work very hard for yards has them looking a bit tired now.

The only explanations imo are either (a) the tmo again, or (b) because both connacht defenders were drawn to the 13, amos was given more space that he should have been even with the crossing. This is the version that I think is most likely.

Also this might be painfully stupid of me, but surely with 14 against 15 Connacht just have to play a simple drift defense and dragons will always end up running out of space as long as Connacht make their tackles?

I don't know what you have got against the tmo? having watched the replay of dragons try over and over there was no reason not to award it. If that was disallowed then very few tries would be scored in modern rugby.

I've seen the try a few times and seemed fine to me, he didn't engage with either tackler and neither would have got to runner anyway.

Need to get a quick score to lower their heads again.

hard see the ref not giving a yellow card early in the second half if the scrum keeps going the way of the first half. if that happens dragons will fancy themselves getting something from the game

There is a connacht prop going in the bin if they don't sort out the scrum. ref is favouring the home side since being forced to upgrade to red by persistence of tmo and touch judge. He said penalty and yellow and tmo actually said do you need to look at it again. He looked and upgraded to red and tmo said I think so yes.
that penalty on muldowney just before halftime was a disgrace. no infringement whatsoever.
Carty needs to play field position in 2nd half and chase has to be top class. maul the shite out of them in these conditions.

Terrible end to the half. Connacht mistakes letting them back in the game. Lam must be livid.

Letting them back into a game that should have been done and dusted. Last penalty was harsh I thought but their try was an embarrassment. Need to get back to basics and grind them down. Scrum should be dominant but last couple have been poor. We should be looking at bonus point at this stage but given how scrappy and niggly its become 2nd half will be a dogfight just for the win.

we lost our way for the last 10 of that and it cost us 10.

We need to get the next score to demoralize the Dragons again.

We're still more than a score ahead so no need to panick yet.

Muldowney is having a very good game so far
