Heard it was a shoulder injury but that was all. No idea how serious it was.

Looked like a stinger from the way he was holding it...

Rugby is getting to the point where trying to put a guy into space or make a break is a liability, or at least it seems that way for us as we're just not up to speed protecting the ball carrier when he goes to ground. It's been they way International rugby has been going the last few seasons and now that is getting translated to club rugby.

that cross kick by Carty was O'Garaesque in it's execution and we know what happened to O'Gara after that.

Very well put and i thought Something similar myself.

Talking to a few scarlets fans before the match, they really weren't hopefull. Missing their Welsh players and not having the break that we had... they didn't think we'd hammer them or anything but but thought that they'd struggle to match us. So much for that. The were better than us with 14 men

I was there, kinda saw it. Not 100% sure what exactly happened but it was just after Barclay got sin binned. Marmion was carrying his shoulder for a while and getting treatment on the pitch. He came off soon after and iced it straight away for the rest if the match.

We're nowhere near euro-level. Edinb was a 50/50 the ref could have made us win. This was just a disaster.
Healy was the standout player
Porter unexpectedly good
The rest ....

Agree with pretty much everything said already. McSharry was a marked man and Poolman was fairly anonymous. We have been destroyed at the breakdown all season whenever teams have played two seven's against us, but we made it even easier for Scarlets today with very haphazard ruck defense and being very slow to aid the ball carrier.

I know he's a young player but Carty probably had his worst game yet, completely static when taking the ball and always lost metres imo. Also spent far far too much time playing the ball in our own half, what was that about? The only reason I can see is that the Welsh teams do like it when they get a chance to run at you but even so we did not have any sort of exit strategy, which was especially bad given the number of kicking options on the field.

Anyone know what happened Marmion? I didn't see him get injured and just heard the commentators say he had been substituted, but they gave no reason for it.

Hugely disappointing. One moment early on summed it up for me. Lineout move, first receiver is McSharry who carries the ball up, Scarlets put in the tackle and two Scarlets players arrive at the breakdown to get over the ball before any Connacht support arrives. Reminded me a lot of the Ospreys game. Annihilated at the breakdown and not doing near enough to get numbers there in time. Tackles being missed all over the shop in midfield. Scarlets weren't doing anything majorly spectacular but were cruising and finding gaps all over the pitch.

First few minutes were fine and you'd think that would allow us to build into the game but conceding 6 while up a player early on was unforgivable. Any team with a semblance of ambition needs to score a try when they have a 5 metre lineout against 14 players. We should have been looking at 8-0 or 10-0 early on and that makes it a different game.

Scarlets had the Anglo-Welsh games over the last few weeks but even allowing for absentees we were so far off the pace it was embarrassing. Considering the options at our disposal now compared with the past this was a Bradley like away day display.

Suddenly even 7th which looked like the minimum aim after the Munster game looks like its slipping away from us and another couple of bad results in the weeks to come and we could be staring at 9th or 10th. A lot of the good has been undone with the last two games.

Don't really know how we'll pick it up for Dragons after that (who won at Leinster today) but we have to. We have thrown away a very good situation in the last 2 games. We need 13 points from the next three games really to get back into contention. Anything less and we can forget about it.

The whole setup needs to look at what we are trying to do ahead of the Dragons game. Let's at least bring a bit of ferocity and a semi-organised defence to the table and try and build from there.

From the remaining fixtures last year we got 17 points, Scarlets got 21. We need 10 points from the next 2 fixtures or we can kiss not-Heineken Cup rugby goodbye.

Have we any place in the Heineken/Champions Cup if that's the sort of tripe we're capable of dishing up? This match has been spoken of a season defining for weeks ... that fact must have passed the players and management by.
I honestly thought we'd moved on from this type of embarrassing display, obviously not.

Was watching the 2nd half of that. Edinburgh look a different side now to earlier in the season. Expected them to win that. Ospreys without their Welsh contingent really are an average side.

Those games against Edinburgh and Cardiff (in particular) in Galway may end up being extremely costly.

A win on Sunday would get us back on track but if we do lose its important we at least keep it to under 7
