Meeting up with family who are travelling in from just outside Loughrea (their initial plans were a return train journey from Athenry to Galway).

I think a return coach trip from Loughrea to Galway is looking to be the best choice.

You could get the farrel travel bus from outside O Connells in Eyre square at half 10 instead.

Where are you going to?
Is the train your only option. To be fair, you'll get down to the train station in less than 10 minutes, 5 if you run from the Sportsground.

Had the same problem in Belfast a few weeks back. Had to miss the last few minutes

According to the Irish Rail website, last train out of Galway to Athenry is 20:20 hrs. Doesn't leave a lot of time to do anything aside from watching the game and then go home!
