I am right that seven qualify as of right amn't I?

It's 6, the 7th placed team ends up in a 2 match playoff with English and French Clubs

Its the Top 6 plus the best of the Italians so it is 7 teams from the Rabo who automatically qualify. That will increase to 8 if the next best placed team (probably the 7th place team) win the play off I think

We still have a shot at winning 5/6, but we'll need to get back up for Cardiff next week.

From listening to the coverage of last nights game it sounded like we really missed Marmion and Niyi in defence. When you think of the amount of vital cover tackles that Kieran makes every game it's almost as if we need a new defensive system when he's not there!

After having a nights sleep on it I think that we're still in a great position. Both ourselves and Cardiff pushed two of the top teams in the league in their home patches and while the scorelines might not reflect it in the end anyone who saw those games will know ourselves and Cardiff were much better than the scorelines. I really liked how the heads didn't go down after the kickdown try and how we kept pushing. Ironically I'm feeling quite positive after that defeat!

Glasgow do it with matawalu to get his talents into team as he's not their no 1 scrumhalf. It allows them to have 2 impact backs on bench and he moves to scrumhalf in final quarter. It's worth a look imo. Could be the difference.

Weirdly enough I tend to agree with this crazy idea! but only if Poolman/Healy are unavailable

we move on and it was always come down to the next 2 games and getting full points, we need to treat the Cardiff game as if it's an interpro, we've slipped up against them before, their 12 got injured and with warburton limited to the number of games he can play I would hope they arrive below strength and a bit jaded after their game against Leinster

Disappointing not to get any return for what sounded like a good effort. On the positives 3 trys away to one of the best teams in the league with a few changes is a positive but 5 against on the flip side shows that there is a lot to work on. Having said that, I doubt many teams outside the usual suspects will leave Glasgow with much this season. Can't say much more having not seen it but think there is highlights on TG4 tomorrow night at about 10.30.

At least the other results went our way. Leinster got a late 4 try bonus with Cardiff handing it to them and thereby losing their own bonus point.Edinburgh and Scarlets drawing is probably the best result from that game. Was watching the finish. Scarlets ran a penalty from their 10m line with time up and ended up conceding a penalty on half way. Heathcoate went for it but was well short and at that stage Scarlets were happy to take the 2 points even though they had led by 14 earlier in the game.

I wouldn't dwell on this one for long. Any points would have been fantastic but the next two weeks are when we need to make a significant move on our rivals. Cardiff at home next week is must win. Cardiff were ok tonight but even a Leinster side looking a long way off their best were able to move comfortably clear before carelessly letting them back in the game. Cardiff were very quick up in defence to their credit, its something we'll have to look out for given that 2 of our tries against tonight were a block down and an intercept.

Hopefully a big crowd, good atmosphere and a win next week.

the intercept and the charge down were 14 self inflicted points not to mention the forward pass for one of Hogg's scores but finished off Glasgow -17 as the correct prediction (as a winning bet) connachta i hope you're backing on your calls with your local bookmaker.

a solid enough performance against what sounded like an outstanding Glasgow team, onto Cardiff and hopefully no injuries, plenty to work on but good to hear good things about our scrum again tonight.

Last minute try for Leinster, they get a bonus point, Cardiff don't. The other results have gone our way tonight.

Don't think many will come to Scotstoun and score 3. I think we were lucky (or was it pressure) with the charge down and the interception, but fair play. By the sounds of Bill Johnstone, Lineen and Wright we played all the rugby. But you guys got a lot of plaudits. Go well for the rest of the season. All the best.

Probably a useful thump back to reality. Glasgow have been one of the form sides in the league going on three years now so the result is no surprise, but it was too easy for them at times. Still Connacht can learn and improve. They must bounce right back against Cardiff.

Agree with decadence, intercept killed us and made the score look a hell of a lot better. we put up a good fight. if we play that well at dragons/cardiff/scarlets and in italy we prob will win,

edinburgh did us a favour 20-20 draw vs scarlets, and its leinster 30 cardiff 23 with 2mins to go in the rds
