But, to stand against myself, McCartney hadn't played LH for 1 and a half year, and when you watch those matches like I did a few days ago, it's difficult to have an idea.. the refereeing is SO, SO different. Nearly all the scrums would have been reset in the Northern hemisphere...And McCart hasn't peculiarly shown neither solidity, nor weakness, (except pushing not straight)

I'd agree that with White out McCartney could be used to back up/alternate with Buckley, with Loughs shifting across (again!), especially as we have 3 other fit hookers (JHW, Heff, Delahunt). But if Heff is playing as hooker then he has to throw. Given he couldn't scrummage worth a damn last year and has been brilliant this year, I'm sure he'll iron out any throwing issues in no time at all.

Main thing is he isn't rushed back like Harris-Wright seemed to be when he had a bicep issue and missed more games as a result. Any news on bealham (probably have to wait until monday or tuesday).

For White, was looking to similar examples of recovery (biceps tendon surgery)

McAlister 28 october-1st March
Attoub (another prop) 18 august- due mid-November according to himself

So at 1st sight, he and Heenan can target at least Treviso home. Which means 8 matches without 2 of our best players. It draws the picture more concretely (and slightly less worryingly)

It's clearly a nightmare for him. On a Connacht point of vue I'm a little more optimistic this morning. McCartney played ok at LH, the stats don't come from a prehistoric age. For the 2013 Super XV, when he was on the teamsheet, the Blues lost 6 on thier own feed, and won 53... pretty decent for a converted prop

so until February we have

1) Buckley 17) McCar
2) Heff 16) JHW
3) AhYou 18) Loughney

One more injury and we've to think to the medic joker, but for now, we're ok...

Very very disappointed for Nathan. Great pro and best tight head scrummager in the country just now. Disappointed for Ireland, but also for ourselves over next 4 months.

We need to get a medical sub in. Rodney isn't going to be able to play non-stop between now and March. Let's look at some of the Georgian lads if we can't get in someone like Jamie Hagan or Jack O'Connell.

Sickened for him.

Yep really bad timing, you need luck and timing on your site to get capped. All the prop injuries had played into his hands a little bit with the AI's due. May be an opportunity that will pass him by now with the rehab time frame and others getting fit...
