That's kind of the point. We know if it plays in Ravenhill etc that we going to get the old faithfuls by bringing to non-rugby strongholds we are getting the non-rugby crowd of whom some we might convert to the game. Besides there's plenty of people in Derry/Londonderry,Donegal and Tyrone who because of the commute wouldn't go to Ravenhill but would make the trip to the Brandywell since it's that much short a distance.

Apologises Salmson. ;)

As a matter of interest does anybody know of a place big enough in Leinster outside Dublin where a game could be held?

In fact they could play them over the country in the areas that don't get regular top-level rugby like in the Brandywell in Derry (9,000 capacity) Coleraine showgrounds holds 6,000 apparently. Musgrave park as well sure. It'd give rugby a lift in those areas and beef up the 'brand'. Thoughts?

Ah now, don't be talking common sense.

Seriously though a game in Derry and a game in, say, the SouthEast, on alternate years would be a great idea.

Ireland A games in the Sportsground? was created by connachtexile
This is something that I think the IRFU have been missing out on for a good while. WHY oh Why do they have to have all the Ireland A [Wolfhound] games in Donnybrook? It's not like this Island is that big; they're only a 4 hours drive at best away from any corner so travel isn't an issue and the attendances at these games by the Dublin crowd who have the seniors is usually woeful. Is anybody here not going to tell me that an Ireland A game wouldn't come close to selling out? Even if it didn't the hype/publicity would make a welcome addition to rugby here out west and stop the senior teams been so dublin-centric. God forbid they may even make a profit from these games...
