Alan Rickman playing Nigel Wray.
Actually, let me think about that. Rickman does best when his characters have some redeeming characteristics.

Throw in some action elements and you'd have no trouble convincing hollywood to row in on this one. Sure it'd write itself
The Killing Fields Of Athenry
(based on a true story)
Directed by Robbo
Original screenplay by menacethedenis
Starring:
Pat Lam - Samuel L Jackson
Craig Clarke - Russell Crowe
George Nauopu - Vin Diesel
Michael Swift - Arnold Schwarzenegger
John Muldoon - Vinnie Jones
Gavin Duffy - Chuck Norriss

Robbie Henshaw - Tom Cruise
And
Sylvester Stallone as Eric Elwood

The Connacht Clan as themselves
Shot on location in The Sportsground and the bars of Toulouse

A Modest Funding Proposal was created by Robbo
Reading through some of the press on the epic win in Toulouse today, I saw it compared to that famous victory over the All Blacks that every Munster fan will never let the world forget about. By extension, I thought of the resulting play.
The idea struck me then of the idea of our own play based around the weekends events.
All the basic Hollywood ingredients are there: a team down on their luck, losing faith in the coach, a seemingly unbeatable opposition, a mix of grizzled old pros and young rookies. We then add to this the human element of the many fans who travelled, the pints, the air traffic control business that I think held some up, more pints, the immaculate sideburns of Dan Parks and maybe write in a marriage proposal at full time.
Then we harvest some Arts Council grants (get Sean McGinley on board for this as his presence is obligatory) and premiere the play at the Arts Festival before a worldwide tour. All tax free through a U2 style operation, which is funnelled back into making the team European giants.
Anyone care to get the ball rolling on the cast?
