Rugby tech will not be doing the Connacht jersey next year.

I believe that its one of the main brands, but will be branded under a different (subsiduary) name.

I understand there is more than a hint of truth this time though.

And agreed Ummmm, we do have the nicest kits out there, so "whoever" gets the gig has a lot to live up to quality wise...

Just going by what usually happens in shops at this time of year is the home jerseys are usually reduced which is an indication that it will be changed. It would seem only the away jersey has changed price so we will most likely be seeing a new away jersey next year but the same home jersey. Home jerseys in most sports tend to go on 2 year cycles. Make of that what you will

My understanding is that the Connacht Shop is an entirely branch thing. I believe they get a bigger cut when you order from their shop as opposed to ordering from Elverys, or picking it up in a shop.

It's be good to have a better understanding of the Connacht Shop ownership structure and where the profits are actually going, I have no problem with paying a couple of quid more for an item if I know the money is being pumped back through Connacht Rugby...

Connacht merch sale was created by phatguerilla
Ok I want to say from the start I realise this thread will not achieve anything in particular, I just want to hear other peoples opinions.

I got an email from connacht rugby today saying they have a sale on their store website of connacht merchandise. Great lets have a look. Unfortunately most of the stuff on sale is still at least a fiver dearer than in Elverys, which is also having a more general sale now.

I'm guessing connacht make more money selling their merchandise direct rather than through elverys, although afaik rugbytech are owned by elverys so maybe they make the same regardless? Either way it would seem to be win win for elverys. On the other hand fans might prefer to buy direct from connacht but that doesn't really make sense when you know the identical kit is on sale elsewhere. (insert 'current economy' comment here).

Everybody's gotta make money so I'm not saying connacht should be trying to undercut elverys but at the very least could the branch not schedule their sale at a different time (before/after) elverys?

And if not that then perhaps they could/should be trying to get more exclusive kit for the connacht store that you can't get in elverys - I see cbs.ie have the european jersey which is not on the elverys site. They also appear to have the away kit in pro version, which is the sort of snazzy upgrade some people will want to buy. Also the home jersey is cheaper (just noting the differences so it doesn't seem like I'm slating the store entirely).
If this is the goal or is the goal in the future then it should be pushed forward more, because the rest of the clothes is definitely dearer than in elverys, and I would wager the non-kit stuff sells just as well or better than the actual jerseys.

rant over. :P
