great to hear the crowd was healthy. The Clan Terrace is certainly paying for itself. I remember I nearly got pneumonia there one year watching us vs Leinster. We lost to! :pinch:

The website has the total at 4221 (Rabo has it as 4112, probably a typo). Regardless of the fact that this includes season ticket holders, the fact is the Clan was packed, as was the main stand terrace, and the temporary terrace was half full. And those kids at the Bohermore end of the clan certainly got their just desserts when Gav went over in the corner right under their noses. As a lad behind me noted "Good on the little f*ckers, I'm voting for them next weekend". :)

It really was an ultra miserable night, with a nasty combination of cold, wet, and windy. Despite that, the place was very busy. I haven't seen the attendance figures, but I suspect if we had the same match two years ago in those conditions, there would be hundreds there, not thousands. You have to love the Clan Terrace!

Thanks, now I've got that Taylor Swift song stuck in my head!

The kind of sensible play teams have exploited against us for years. Positives (Browne, the locks, the scrum, messing up their lineout something terrible, Parks tactical kicking, the back three's steadiness, and ability to make yards in a downpour) far outweigh the negatives (our own lineout, Rodney).

If anyone saw/recorded the Leinster match yesterday the Connacht tries were on before the game. Poolman's horrible looking but well-earned try (Horizontal-box-kick from Parks, great chase, O'Halloran and then Henshaw sliding in to get toe to ball leaving Poolman to dot down unopposed while everyone else slides around on the deck) would give a real flavour of the game.

Oh, and one last thing - whoever looks after the Sportsground pitch deserves a medal.

Glad we got the win but even accounting for the awful conditions I still feel a bit disappointed we didn't get the bonus point against a piss-poor Treviso side. They were dreadful, never looked like threatening our line all night. We just never got going really, it was all fits and starts and I don't think anyone had a particularly brilliant game. Browne was good, hope he stays fit now. Macca and Mul also played well. Was too far away from Poolmans try to see it really but I thought himself and McSharry had a quiet night otherwise. Come to think of it the Treviso centres' jerseys were a lot cleaner than the other lads by the end of the game so maybe that shows there wasn't much traffic down those channels. Still, important we won going into the international break.

Really with players like this I would like to see them play for the Wolfhounds first, as a sign of commitment before they get the highest domestic honour an Irish Rugby player can attain...

Bottom line though is that it's the punters own hard earned money and if they don't think they are being represented by the selection they are free to not spend it...

I feel a bit sorry for Bent. It is not like he has done anything wrong, but he's the one that will take the flak for poor decisions made by management. There is no way he should be capped this season IMO, and all the cynical photos with a hurl just make the situation worse.

I really dont think it will be Eddie getting the job. I'd like to think/hope/pray that The branch arent that stupid.

Also, found it a bit funny, but listening to people around me in the Clan Stand talking about Michael Bent being called up to the Irish squad. A few of them were mumbling that they wont go to an Ireland match, that he's playing in.

Fixed for you...
