Ben Woods is an interesting one. Plays centre for Old Belvedere, about 22/23 scored 2 tries against Landsdowne a couple of weeks back, has played a couple of games with Leinster A too I think.

Adult tickets at the gate are €10 and Juniors €5.

Dont see the point of this really, with only one game left in the proper season.

Rearranged Connacht Eagles v Newport RFC game

The Connacht Eagles v Newport RFC game has been rearranged to take place this Saturday 27th April in Dubarry Park. Kick-off is at 2:30pm.

The Eagles’ final game of the British & Irish Cup pool stages, due to take place on 19th January 2013, was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions in Wales and airport disruptions.

Did I hear right that the Newport game is off tomorrow as they couldn't take off from Wales. Should be rescheduled but not sure for when. Might be a handy game to slip in before the Rabo kicks off again, give a few regulars who need the game some gametime.

Well done lads, that was a full Newcastle team out.

It wasn't they rested a bunch of players, but it was a better result that would have been expected especiall on the road...

They rested 3 or 4, it was largely a full choice team

Hogg, Hudson, Tuifua and Gopperth were rested

Hudson was on the bench but that's three serious omissions (but not all of the omissions), that makes it not a first choice team by any reckoning. A strong team, but not their strongest...

If you consider that the Falcons beat Newport 93-0 that's a solid performance. Looks like having to fight for contracts is a good incentive to play.
