Very sad for Flannery, but this opportunity could be the making of Cronin, there's no way Best can last 80 on Saturday with the kind of intensity that will be required...

Kidney doesn't like to introduce new players unless there's an injury crises regardless of form of current squad...

Another area of the feild that DK failed to "blood" young talent at international level in the last 6N and the last 2 Autumn series of fixtures....

Anyway Cronin isn't up to international rugby. I can say that now that he plays for Leinster.

Cronin will get a game against Russia, but I dont see him getting any other opportunites, barring an injury to Best.

Agreed Breifne Fla will be sorely missed. Best has shown (on loads of occasions) that he is not internal standard sadly.
Cronin will now go the bench at the weekend and Varley is at home packing his bag for the flight over

This news saddens me.  Flannery is a warrior who fought so hard to get back.  Ireland will miss his competitive edge and veteran leadership.
