We have 5 scrumhalf options, we’ll be fine.

We can't run with Blade alone, even with him being the 4th best scrum half in the country after Murray, Marmion, and Cooney. With Mitchell not at the required level to start the run of difficult games ahead, then we're going to have to get in a medical joker. Munster got Mathewson for Murray despite having THREE other fit scrum halves on the books!

Considering he is due back around 6 nations time, we will basically be without him for a big chunk of the rest of the season. Blades form has been excellent though, so he'll see this as a big opportunity.

Looks like the IRFU are calling the shots on this one as I am sure he could have gone for surgery after the Ulster/ Argies game. Seem to be saying get it done and get him back for the 6 nations.... no doubt we will be reading articles every weekend for Cummiskey and his click about how well LM is playing and will be the undoubted back up for the 6N.

We will now obviously be allowed to sign a medical joker for three months like Munster did with Mathewson. Who might be available?

We have Leader, De Buitlear Godwin can also play on the wing if necessary as well as TOH Niysi, Healy and Kelleher.

Shame really, never got going for one reason or any other. Would have liked to see him get his chance but not a massive loss other than at squad depth

I saw that also, and is confirmed by Brive, Possibly the emergence of De Buitlear may have helped his decision.

And Tom Farrell can feel a little aggrieved Arnold has been chosen ahead of him.

Just the four Connacht players in the November squad: Aki, Bealham, Marmion and Roux.

Buckley and Carty can probably feel aggrieved to see Kilcoyne and Byrne ahead of them, but few surprises all told.
