All international players this season
Sean O'BRIEN back-row/LOCK 1m94
Will never ever be if he plays lock regularly.
Logic?
Haven't we picked Toner as a gigantic guy already?
We can afford a smaller one ...
Look at the starting locks for any international team though, they're almost always 1.98m+
Then again I don't trust online player heights/weights an ounce(or an inch this case...) so who knows

Because a 2nd row of Thornbury Browne and barely 20 y.o Gallagher looks weak/not deep enough, when Dillane/Roux are rested/in the camp/injured
I expect good things of Thornbury and he looks a beast. Gallagher needs to be given game-time this year. If your good enough your old enough. Look at Jordie Barrett with The AB's , 20 and playing full back. If he was in Ireland he'd be three years in camp learning systems before he'd even get a go on the bench. Diverged a bit there but i think we need to get Gallagher on the pitch this year. '
You can't say we have enough locks in order to give gametime to unproven Thornbury/Gallagher
And think in the same time we needed Butler, when Connolly/McKeon are going to be kept out of the 23
Those last two have shown the Pro12 standards, compared to the first quoted...
Let's be honnest, nobody can claim that a back-row was more needed than a lock in our squad

SOB2 will only ever be emergency cover at second row.
He can do a job but I doubt barring injury crisis he'll start at 4/5 ever.
At this level he's not designed for lock he's built for 6 or Eight...those that know me he's basically my height/weight...
Great player and potentially long term replacement for Mul as our indigenous leader...
AFAIK he's the exact same size as Billy Holland which tells you all you need to know.
He's captained every team he was ever on from minis up, then Calasanctious JCT, Roscrea SCT, Ireland u18s, Ireland u20s, so he's definitely a candidate for leadership in the future.
Official site have them at 5KG difference, O'Brien being an Inch taller.
But Holland isn't an International Standard second row, SOB2 has a chance to be an International standard 6 (lot of competition, but potential is there for sure..)...

First and foremost Gallagher needs to get fit and maybe move to Buccs, I doubt he's played 5 games in the last year.
Found this online from a Brumbies fan on Butler:
"Firstly, Jarrad is a really nice guy. And he's a hard worker and a professional. I think he will be well regarded in Ireland.
He's pretty good, but is a fair way away from national selection. He falls in between positions somewhat - he's not a big enough ball runner for 8, he's isn't a genuine lineout option nor an enforcing defender type which is what many teams want in a 6, and he's not quite strong enough over the ball to be a 7. His physique is that of an undersized 6 or 8 (and he has the broadest shoulders known to man). While he doesn't excel in any back row position, he is very good at all if them. He's played 6, 7 and 8 for the Brumbies, and it's always handy to have a guy like that in your squad.
I hope he finds his best position and performs well over there in a starting position, but at the very least he's going to be an extremely useful squad option.
Quality signing, and another sad loss to Australian rugby."
I know it's not much to go off but he sounds eerily similar to Jordi Murphy, nearly the exact same height, weight and age as well.

We have Cannon and Claffey (who I admittedly haven't heard much of since Ireland u20s) as well. I'd have no problem with SOB covering lock a couple of times if needed I just would hate if he was moved there permanently.

For those making sure the word "week-end" means something
Having a little toddler means you normally don't need a alarm clock if you want to get up and watch some rugby on a saturday or sunday ......
