. He is a young prop who could be great, or maybe not. What I am saying is that we don't know. He simply is an unproven youngster, even in his time at Grenoble (his recent week plaudits aside). At Grenoble he has played little rugby. And that's a simple fact. So he simply is a junior addition to a professional team, as I see it.
He's done a lot more at the age of 22 than most props have tbh. Do you know how many games Denis was starting at 22? Or Jack McGrath? Mako Vunipola? Not as many as this guy, and they were doing it in what are generally accepted to be "easier" leagues for props.

1) Heenan
2) Connoly
3) McKeon
4) Dawai (played 7 last week)
5) Masterson, if needed.
But no more than these indications for my part
How is he NIQ? Heenan and Connolly are the only natural 7s there and Connolly barely plays, the problem is we have 2 many 6s
Fox-Matauma is Not Irish Qualified, well, because he's not Irish, and doesn't qualify under residency. Am I missing something here?
What I meant is how is he not a project? I wasn't bothered being pedantic and getting into the distinction between Not Irish Qualified and Not Irish Eligible
Should have asked how he isn't a project player then.
I just did. This is so pointless

I'm not so sure about this signing. 'made 29 appearances in the French top flight over the past three seasons, including six starts during the current campaign'. Now Grenoble pack would not inspire and he only managed 6 starts this season to date? I would think this is a cheap buy with no guarantee. I don't base my opinion on him being an U20 Irish international. Niall Annett was Irish U20 hooker and captain and he has fallen off the grid altogether. So my first impression is our new Denis is not comparable to our current DenisEnda wrote: www.the42.ie/denis-coulson-connacht-gren...fer-3274223-Mar2017/
By my reckoning our Denis is the 2nd/3rd best loosehead in the country, and bear in mind that Ireland aren't short of quality looseheads, so it's highly unlikely we'll be signing anyone better than him. This guy is 22 years old, he's an absolute baby for a prop. He's made the T14 team of the week recently and he's playing in the most physical league against monstrous packs that are renowned for the scrummaging. You'd be silly not to think he has promise.
I'd revert to connachta's wish list. We need somebody to be able to step into Buckleys boots. I suppose that naturally would be Ronan Loughney (when fit). And I read that Ronan could be out of contract. I don't see this signing as any improvement, maybe I'm wrong, but this guy has done nothing to prove he is even equal to Ronan. Which leads me to believe its a very ordinary signing and absolutely nothing to get excited about?
You don't see how a twenty two year old prop who has gotten on the team of the week in the bloody Top 14, land of monstrous scrummaging and carrying props, shows any promise? Please tell me you are joking. Is this going to be Henshaw/Marmion/Carty all over again?

Robb played for Old Belvedere against Cork Con last weekend.

I would be hugely disappointed if not re-signed
