Connacht Launch 'Grassroots To Green Shirts'
What is our vision?
For Connacht Rugby
- to produce the best rugby players in the world and keep them in Connacht
- to develop more players for the Ireland senior team
- to produce British & Irish Lions
- a Connacht player to lift the Rugby World Cup wearing the famous green shirt
I think you're forgetting how far fetched that seemed at the time.

Grassroots to green shirts. Think they had to change it to Grassroots to blue shirts after Robbie

Donated to that, got a thank you letter, and never heard another thing about it.
I'm happy to purchase my season ticket early, buy merchandise, and spend money in their bar.
If I could see donations been used wisely, I'd donate again, but they haven't shown anything to make me think the donation was used to produce something positive as of yet

160 mil Euro millions:
15 mil to a trust that would pay out 750k p.a. If 250k of that is put back into the trust against inflation, you're left with 500k direct to the club. This is long term.
3 mil as seed funding for a new stadium, i.e. the dog food fund.
1 mil for 'immediate use', attract some top talent to plug holes that we might have. Enough to keep the core of the squad together, but not enough that we'd turn into a Tulon.
1 mil to the Academy for scholarships.
A cool 20 million. Clan Stand renamed the Sol_ie stand, get cider into the Clan Bar etc. etc.
One can dream.

It's not classy to highlight ones own charitable acts, but through this mechanism I feel I've really done my part over the years. Planning to "donate" at least €20 during the semi final.
Seriously though, the thought had crossed my mind in the past that I would be willing to donate a few quid if I felt it was going to be put to good use. I also day dream about winning the euro millions and becoming a Connacht Rugby sugar daddy.

If the Connacht Clan could set up Crowd Funding to help sign/keep top players.
With 6000 fans at the semi final, if we can get an min avg of 10e per person that is 60k.
I'm not sure how to do it, would Connacht branch like it? If you could get a slot on big screen and the semi final and again at the final(positive thinking)
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.
