This twitter page seems to be the most up to date on where the play is at. Still 10-7 into the last 10.

Doesn't appear to be. They have the home game on next week.

15 mins left. At the very least they won't be getting a try bonus point which should cancel out the losing bp they picked up from us

His own interpretation in the Clan Bar post-game was that the penalty was for offside and he was binned for repeated infringements.

He was unfortunate to be on the receiving end of the card so. The referee mustn't have been a great communicator, the Connacht Twitter feed thought he said 'deliberate knock on' too.
Any word after the match on how Dave McSharry is?

Bad concussion - couldn't walk off unassisted
3rs concussion this season and second in very quick succession - worried about him.

Dillane and Robb very impressive - and Carty deserved MotM

Always feel for players who get binned for a teams continued infringements - and Rory Parata felt brunt of that tonight

Agree with you re McSharry, repeated concussions like that are bad news. Poor lad has had no luck with injuries, hope he gets himself right and has a storming second half of the season.
Parata was binned for a deliberate knock on according to Linley's report in IrTimes.
Heartening to see the amount of young talent coming from the Academy, must be very encouraging for those lads to know that they'll get their chances to shine if they work hard. Wouldn't happen with the other provinces.

Great to get the win and make sure the Cardiff game didn't generate any negative momentum. Really feel for Dave McSharry though. Not sure what the point of bringing him on with 2 or 3 mins to go was. I know you can't predict a bang to the head but he has been out for a long time and surely a start with the Eagles would have been a better way to bring him back.No real benefit to the team in him coming on when he did.

Very happy to get the job done tonight. We were the dominant team in the first half but Newcastle were relatively solid in defence and with our lineout not really functioning 9-3 was ok at half time. After going to 12-3 we should have been able to extend it out but we gave them an opening and at 12-10 it was up for grabs. Even at 15-10 with the sin-binning we looked vulnerable but the sitter Newcastle missed spurred us on and the crowd got into it. Denying them a bonus point was very welcome and important.

Big night for Jack Carty. Maybe didn't step forward when needed last weekend but an excellent kicking display, a lot of difficult and crucial kicks and he nailed them all bar one and got us some decent territory with his kicks down the line which were very good tonight. Great to see Dannie Poolman back and among the tries. Think everyone held their head in their hands when he kicked it through thinking the chance was gone but he got there well.

Peter Robb is doing very well. Once his offloading improves he is a serious prospect. Doesn't shirk his defensive duties either. Scrum did well and the young lads in the back row put in a good shift. Caolin Blade had a good game I thought, made one or two poor calls in terms of kicking but all in all a solid outing.

All going well until the final seconds when Dave McSharry had to go off. So gut-wrenching for him after all the setbacks he has had.

Newcastle were very average as you'd expect with so many frontliners left at home. Their maul was a threat but apart from their no.9 offered little more. It'll be interesting to see our approach for next week. We have the first edge in this pool by denying them a bonus point. Obviously at home they'll want to prove a point but can't imagine they'll put out a strong team.

Congrats to Ulster also, hasn't been many good nights for Irish Rugby of late so a welcome boost for them.
