Cross Keys are going well at the minute and should contribute a few. But I suspect that despite calling it a Premiership Select, it will mainly be Dragons fringe players and academy guys.

While the Seniors are in Siberia on Saturday, It'll be interesting to see how the Eagles fare against Dragons A. I presume Dragons will be pulling players from Newport (currently 5th in the Welsh Premiership but only 2 off the leaders Pontypridd in a congested table) and a couple of the other Welsh Premiership clubs local to them.

The Eagles have obviously been pilfered a bit for this one so hard to know how strong we'll be. If we can get off to a good start we may have a chance of progressing this season. Doncaster have made a good start to the championship but Jersey are down the table in 8th place.

We've had a few tough groups in recent years, this one looks more manageable, obviously a lot is contingent on how many are needed by the seniors on particular weekends. The main emphasis of this competition for us is development but the further we go the better to build the experience of the younger players.

With most of the Eagles team probably busy in Siberia, it will be difficult to have a competitive lineup for Dragons A

I love George, and I love that he and Sene have made Galway their home. I get just as much pride out of seeing Sene's name in Ireland squads as any Connacht player. But I really worry about wasting an NIQ spot one someone who might only be a bit part player for us this year.

Not all as a good few aren't registered. I think 10 of the starting 15 plus O'Donnell and Blade are in the Euro squad so I'd expect those to travel. I think Delahunt is the only fit squad member not named in either 23. Danie might make it back I suppose but maybe more likely he'll get a run out for the Eagles next week rather than risk the trip.

With 41 in the squad and five injured, some of the Treviso bench will have to start and at least a couple of the starters will have to travel.

Great result for the Eagles. I hope they went straight to bed after that game. At the final whistle it would have been nearly 1am in Krasnoyarsk.

Excellent stuff. 2 wins and 36 and 43 points away to Ulster and Leinster A is good going. Ok we had a few more first team squad players than Leinster this evening but still great to get this run out and keep everyone ready for action for the weeks ahead.

If we get a decent break with injuries and so forth we could make a decent fist of the B&I Cup as well which would be another big step forward.

Pity that Conor is a bit small, looks like the cracking kicker we need.. A.J may be the one, though...
