Now it's 5 in the squad, don't wish injury on any player but there surely will be further call ups as the 6 nations progresses.

Is pats contract up this year? Job going at Harlequins. What I'm saying is that when you get a better contract you think about yourself. If pat got the harlequins job he would be gone. So while I appreciate the sentiment pat expressed I really don't buy it in the modern game of professional rugby. While team supporters may be passionate these guys are simply paid employees. Yes they are disappointed to lose because they want to win. Yes they hate playing badly as it reflects badly on themselves. I wonder how many of our first team really think about the jersey they put on as compared to the money generated in their back pocket putting on that jersey. They all have their agendas. Do you think tiernan or matt will stay after the snub by Joe. Do you think Jake or bundee are going to stay at Connacht if there is no euro rugby of note next year. Sorry if my viewpoint isn't terribly fashionable but its my viewpoint. It doesn't stop me supporting Connacht but I do expect pat to leave (he would be mad not to, he will get fantastic offers) and I do expect a lot to leave with him.

Pat extended his contract last year by three years...

21st January 2015

Pat Lam has signed a new three-year deal with Connacht Rugby and the IRFU to remain in the position of Connacht Head Coach until at least the summer of 2018.

Ya I reckon Pat is pissed off about it as well. I remember when Pat first arrived Rodney spoke in an interview saying that Pat had sat down with him an helped him realise what he wanted and refocus on his game. It'd be hard to take that departure after the effort Pat put in to him, he got him from a struggling prop in to an international Jersey.

I think Pat Lam's comments on Rodney have been interesting. He seems annoyed at Rodney to me. "Nobody was interested in signing him a few years ago" and the menacethedenis quote about players wanting to be here sounds to me like Pat isn't impressed with Rodney wanting to leave.

Hi right. I like Rodney but lets be honest here his best year was last year. This year his not been as good. When he arrived he was very unfit and it really took too long for him to get himself sorted physically and start shifting his ass.
If he carried on his form from last year and was flying it we would miss him but sad to say his not the top tighthead for us.
Good luck to him I hope his the last to leave please god for another while.

I thought I heard that they were changing that rule and doing the draw much closer to the tournament, but I never confirmed that.

Yeah me too, but it doesn't look like they ever reached a decision and may keep it as is. It's a bit ridiculous that we still don't know in fairness

I like Trimble his an honest hardworking player but from what Ive seen of him and that includes our match his been in crap form. same as Zebo
Players need to be picked on form as much as anything . Healy deserved to be there but at least we have him available to us.

Might be platitudes, might mean Bealham and O'Donnell are in the 23 for Saturday and Rodney heads off to the valleys. It'll be interesting to see the selection.
