God that's terrible, should we send a card on behalf of The Clan?

Sadly Swifty's dad Jim passed away suddenly yesterday. I know we (rightly) like to keep players' private lives out of this forum but I'm some of you many know him personally and might like to pay respects.

Fantastic stalwart for Connacht. Has given his all from the time he arrived at Connacht to the present day and has seen all the positive and negative changes that have happened over the years. Will be kind of the end of an era in some ways. He has been one of the few constants you could rely during the peaks and troughs for well over a decade.

Always gave 100% and often dragged us into games kicking and screaming when others didn't want to know. Really don't think it can be put into words what he has given to Connacht Rugby. Hopefully a proper send off is provided to him to show how much everyone appreciated him.

Great player who will be missed. Big boots to fill for the person who replaces him.

I have a ten year old and his favourite player is Swifty, all day long. Says something about the man and the player that is so easily recognisable.

A true Connacht legend, and a gentleman to boot. Big boots to fill !

Thanks Swifty for giving us your all- A true gentleman on and off the pitch, became the heart of Connacht rugby. Such an ambassador, hope rugby finds a role. Deserves a hearty Clan send-off

Bad news but no one can complain he gave everything to Connacht over the years.

The man is a Connacht legend, and deserves a huge send off.
The last home game this season against Ospreys should be played in his honour.
Re-name the Clan Stand the Swifty stand for the one day.

Hard to find the right words to describe how much he will be missed and the contribution that he has made to rugby in the west.

I hope he stays on in some capacity. I simply can't imagine Connacht Rugby without Swifty involved. What an incredible contribution he's made over the years.
