I think it used to be a good omen a couple of years ago when the old scoreboard would break down.

I'm enjoying the 3 wins a lot, but stats show where we are :

kicking rate is 50%
we've made only 40% of the passes, at home
only one Henshaw offload against 8 for Leinster!!
we lost 7% of our rucks (Leinster 4,3%)
conceeded 17 turnovers against 12
lost more then 30% of our lineout (9/13) against 8% (12/13), for the same global amount

Comparison with the same match in January

we made 55% of the passes, at home
7 offloads against 2 for Leinster!!
we lost 13% of our rucks (Leinster 6%)
conceeded 15 turnovers against 14
lost 11% of our lineout (8/9) against 7% (13/14)

little improvement is from 85% tackling success rate last season to 88% for this one

Anyway it shows stats don't win match, TMO and confidence does! (same forward pass for Darcy, 9 months ago, for their try, not allowed this time!)

I could've sworn someone showed me that stat in the Clan Bar afterwards. I'll be honest, someone could've told me that the moon was made of cheese and I'd have beleived it on Friday night.

Craggy Island Rugby was something special allright. Mind you, I do prefer the guests he had on last week. More insightful, better speaking voices, and (dare I say it) better looking.[/quote]

Agree 100% faces for radio without a doubt ;)

Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

I must say, I think that was the loudest I've heard the Clan Stand ever

Robbie's hit on Gopperth
Winning the scrum penalty at the end of the first half
Marmion leaving Kearney on his backside
Mick Kearney's hit on Rob Kearney
Healy kicking the ball out for full time

All fantastic

@ConnachtCows - Always looking for new followers :)

I was listening to Craggy island podcast (which is brillant) and a point furlo made was about half time. Our 3 games after half time we have conceded 3 points in second halfs, thats 2hours of rugby we only let 3 points in (vs dragons).
ive no idea what happens in the dressing room at half time, i doubt they are headbutting the walls, maybe that pat lam and the coaches have a laptop out, showing where we are making mistakes and what way the ref is taking control.....

I really enjoyed the first two podcasts but have to say the latest offering is particularly excellent (I just can't believe how few people are listening to them), everybody was on brilliant form but Furlo's passion comes across really well but still kept analytical. Hadn't picked up on Macken being injured prior to Marmion making his break, which I think was why Madigan shot out of the line (as highlighted by salmson in his earlier post).

The point about what happens at half time, watching the TG4 stream they showed the two changing rooms and you could clearly see Dan crouched down with our forwards discussing whatever it was in a lot of detail. There was an obvious focus and intensity to the discussion and you could pick on how closely the players were engaged. Not sure how much you can tell from a 3 or 4 second shot of a changing room and I'm sure it's not something new but was interesting to see all the same.

Thought Heffernan was immense and those stats back that up, there were at least two moments that I saw where he made a big and important tackle then jumped up and tackled the next carrier when the ball was moved from the ruck he just exited! The most impressive part is how much room he has to improve while already showing all the attributes that we've been missing at hooker basically since Cronin left.

Heffernan 18 tackles made, 2 missed
Muldowney 14 made, 1 missed

The two lads put a lot of good pressure on JHW, McCartney, Kearney etc.. for the starting team spots

Just both of them realised 20% of the total tackling amount

Great match and a great win to put a marker down for 6th spot. Other people and named players who played well, all them pulled there weight around, i forgot to record the game and its not on tg4 player so havent seen it again.

we won 6 games in pro12 last season, we already have 3. last weekends game was a bonus if we won, same vs glasgow on weekend.
cardiff and treviso are a must win!
what to do next weekend. keep going, winning matches or will lam call it as he see it and save our best players for cardiff? hopefully he'll send our best team over and go for it. glasgow had 3 injures vs dragons, 3 of there main players. go for it, give it all and if we get points, we get points. if we rested buckley, KM etc, in first min vs cardiff they could get injured. it doesnt work like that.

back to leinster game, the game was nowhere near sold out as the branch was saying, athmosphere was unreal. ive been saying it, friday nights are a different kettle of fish.
if the branch are reading, we had 4200 at dragons, thats about 1200 tickets sold (we'll say 3k season tickets) at average price of €18 = €21,600.
why not drop the price to €10 coccession, €12 adults and hope to get 5000 at the game, thats 2000 tickets sold at €11 average = €22,000. anymore would be an extra, i as a season ticket holder wouldnt be claiming it de-values the season ticket. were winning games, let the bandwagon go in full swing if possible.
i was hoping they would be selling tickets after the leinster game, people see a win, they want to see more and buys a ticket. usually we get crowds at inter pros, big heineken cup games but we lose so the fair weather supporters dont see a win and they stay away. tickets a are easilly bought online or in shops but the branch need to be in peoples face, ie shopping centres and in colleges. they sell them in student unions but thats not noticeable enough. they need to be in peoples faces. €20 is alot to hand over but if it 'just over a tenner' people will do a impluse buy.

I think I enjoyed that as much as the Toulouse game :woohoo:
It was a really great team effort with some stand out individual performances too! Delighted that Muldoon stood up last night after his no-show last week. Hopefully last night is the makings of Muldowney, easily his best performance since his arrival! Matt Healy had some great moments as-well last night in his first game back, hopefully himself and Poolman can stay healthy for the season ahead (along with everyone else  ) . Roux would need to watch himself though, like alot of other Saffers he tends to lead with his shoulders more than most but he looks to be committed to the cause, which is great to see! The most pleasing part of this season for me is that from 1-23 seem to be ''on form''. No calamities when certain players come off [Marmion]. Carthy made plenty of mistakes again but he was the only OH on show last night! which is encouraging. Buckley needs a rest... :P
