At around the 60 min mark
Close but not close enough
My sister was interviewed before the game by the pitch side guy with interview shown on big screen in the ground. My cousin said she was on BBC alba. She then had to dance with the Edinburgh mascot, winning a Edinburgh top. Not sure what she is doing with that

Would that have anything to do with a possible psychoactive drug that you may or may not have partaken of, when previously allegedly in the vicinity of the South of France at some non determined time in the past

As the game went on, I felt our 9/10/12/13 grew into the game and played a large part in securing the win. Cartys passing was poor but his kicking was quiet good for the most part and if he retains the 10 shirt I'd be confident that he'll have a greater impact on games, did Ronaldson come on at 15 and if so is that where he played?

I think the pack is competitive, Heenan is a huge loss no matter how you dress it up. Faloon is a very good player but the ball carrying of Heenan is so significant to us. Others will have to try and step it up.
Hoping for a big performance from Jack Carty, how he does in general play and our kicking stats will be hugely significant.
Having Ronaldson and Muldowney back on the bench is welcome. We will need big seasons from both.
Interesting to see Finlay Bealham ahead of Ronan Loughney who isn't on the injured list (was using the I-Pad for the scrums the last day). Also is JP Cooney still around, thought he was a player of potential but hasn't seemed to push on or hasn't been given the chance. Either way Bealham has yet to convince me from what I've seen of him. He has plenty of time on his side but would have thought the others offered better options and the ability to switch sides.
I was talking to Loughney briefly last week. He was visibly limping, but said he was ok. I imagine it's precautionary more than anything else
For me, the squad has more depth than ever. The main area we must be concerned about is definitly hooker for the moment.
7 we've Masterson and McKeon to cover Faloon
5 Muldowney Swift Qualter...
but for n°2, until october, one injury and the substitute will be a 20 y old converted hooker (Delahunt or Dineen)
After this case, and the other case, theres only one case left!
You were Ironic, but I was right. Next week, we'll have the 15 last minute with one of thiese 2 guys who have 20 minutes professional rugby each...

For me the most encouraging thing is that for the first two games, the team are learning how to grind out a game and get the win that last year we would have given up and lost.
Couple of points, we need someone with a cool head on the pitch.
The game was over at 80:00 mins, why was the ball not put to touch at 80:01. There is a big clock in the stadium.
Last week we let Dragons take a quick line out after DP was forced into touch with 2 min to go. Rather than throw the ball away, just let it "fall" over the advertising banners onto the track so a Ball Boy picks it up and prevents the quick throw.
Hopefully we can begin to 'Manage' the games better as we get into the season. As others have said, the real test will be next week against Leinster and the week after against Glasgow.
Dragons and Edinburgh were with us in the bottom half of the table for most of last year. For a top 6 position this year we will need to be beating these two, the Italians and Cardiff both home and away and pick up some home wins against the current top 6 in the Sportsground and a few LBP away.

In all seriousness, there were problems, but as connachta says I would take that win in a heartbeat. PP had the handicap at +7 and most here were looking for 2 lbp beforehand. To win a game away, playing at 60% capacity while picking up a yellow and some injuries is something you'd have dreamed of at times last season. We ground out a win in a terrible fashion and that's a worthwhile exercise, its the right points on the board and it will give the lads a kick up the arse to improve for next week - that's all win-win-win to me.
Niyi did look gassed s4p, I imagine he wasn't supposed to play the full 80? Only his second cap and a six day turnaround, I'll forgive him this time, but he did look like he didn't realize there were chasers. On the plus side in the first half he was very good at ball presentation for Marmion which is probably more important from a full season perspective. Carr on the bench is not a valid option imo
At times it was definitely frustrating, Carty playing deep and shoveling it on without moving forward himself smacked of Parks' worst nights last season. But around the 60 minute mark he turned that around and started attacking the line. It felt to me like a game where the team were sent out to try keeping things tight and learn how to edge a win, rather than throwing it around and possibly scoring but also conceding.
I also feel like Connacht need to really really work on their rucking. Granted Edinburgh were allowed pile in 5 players at each ruck which prevented turnovers, and at times you could see the forwards assessing whether a ruck was worth challenging or not, but at the very least if you can't win the ball, shouldn't Roux be smashing a few people? He was a passenger last night for me. Leinster under Schmidt had the best rucking and counterrucking of any team in the pro12 imo, Leinster fans say it has gone downhill (I hope to see the game today and decide myself) but even so Connacht will need to be better prepared than that.

Remember last season, played awful and nearly caught saracens
Last night's game was the worse I've been at.
Carty had a shocker. His passing was to forward for receiver or to low. Can't blame the receiver. Edinburgh was attacking us in 3, 4 5mins long, we turnoover the ball and carty kicks the ball right at them for another attack.
Leaders kicking needs to be looked at badly.
Coming in from the side is crazy to do 3 times.
HeFF didn't get much lineouts right in the warm up, not surprised that during the game things didn't work out
Henry looked fairly shaken after the game, might be out for awhile.
One of our best players vs dragons was niyi, he didn't get any ball out wide last night, no one on one. Towards the end when he had to collect the ball, not sure if he was injured but he was slow.

I don't say it's all clean, but for fu** sake, remember where we were 1 year ago, in a similar match against Treviso away
Our level last night has NOTHING to be compared with that
the scrum is now clearly one of the best in the league
You pointed out Niyi and Henshaw, you're right, but forget McKeon, Naoupu Muldowney and Roux who were fairly consistant, whereas two weeks ago, we were all targeting 5/8 as probable weak areas
And even the backs were very dynamic, didn't see one action where the Edimburgh defence didn't step back, even as a precaution... Have some little memories, last year, when the game was moved to the wing, we were 10 metres behind the initial pass
Yes the will to advance much more has consequences : knock-on in contact. But I trust our talented back-line to limit those handling errors in the short-term
So yes,I dare to say it : I liked what I saw! Win and perspectives.
