RonanL I have to defend TOH, we met him and Fets after the parma game. they both posed for pics with my kids, I went up to the bar and on my return found that they had joined our table and were chatting away having the craic with my wife and kids, certainly nothing arrogant about him at all.

They stayed at our table for most of the night and the craic was had by all.

This was the first time I ever met them.

At the quins game my son made a point of meeting them again and both players had a quick word with him and chatted about the parma trip.

Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

He offers a great counter attacking threat. Great moment the last day when he took off and ran straight into trouble. Queue moans and groans in the clan - next thing you know he's made another 20 yards.

I think that's a little harsh. Fetu has the maturity that comes with age. TOH isn't doing too badly - it is inevitable that the likes of him and Griffin suffer from second season syndrome.

I'm happy to admit that my opinion on Tiernan may be harsh. Before he started playing for the senior team, I used to see him strutting around the sports ground at matches, looking like he's the man......I'm probably just jealous! Anyway, for me, Fets is the form winger, and I want to see if Poolman is any good. So, if someone has to make way, then I think it should be Tiernan and not Fets. That is all :-)

Fets has definitely improved. He's still ropey under a high ball, he can't really kick, and his tackling is poor. But as people have already said, he works really hard, and when he gets the chance, he can make something happen. For me, Tiernan comes across as being an arrogant young lad who is enjoying the attention he gets a little too much. I'd drop him ahead of Fets in a heartbeat at the moment.

Thought his form improved in recent weeks. My one slight criticism is last Saturday he made some powerful breaks but often didn't look outside and took back into contact when a pass outside was the better option. He can get us in behind at times but could do with a bit more awareness on occasion to maximise the benefit of the initial break

However overall I'm much happier with him now than earlier in the season and he has contributed more in the last couple of home games than Tiernan O'Halloran in fairness. If one was to make way at present for Poolman to come in I'd keep Vainikolo in.

Would just like to throw my tuppence halfpennys worth here re Fets , has got a hard time on the forum in past times but bar a couple of blunders think he has been extremely consistent this year an extremely hard worker of the ball and the one back who has the ability to create something out of nothing and is a speed merchant if can be isolated in space with the ball. Some of us are quick enough to slate a man when things are going poor but if his form continues as it has he will be a vital player for us for the rest of the season and hopefully will increase his try conversion.

wasn't Leamy on a central contract? Didn't he sign a new one recently? If so it means a new central is up for grabs will be interesting to see who gets it.

All contracts for all players for all provinces are underwritten by the IRFU, as the Leinster CEO pointed out to Des Cahill on Morning Ireland today.

macca and duffy have a much better chance of making the next world cup than rog and doc and darcy have no hope.

no connacht players on new zealand tour unless few more get injured,
getting well pissed off with ireland team. pure crap compare what we have with leinster/ulster.

how many times does a player have to feature in the ireland squad before he would be given a central contract from the irfu????
if macca made new zealand tour after being in with the 6nations would connacht have a right to ask them to give him a contract rather than connacht' money?

Gav's missed the boat unfortunately, if he was 25-26 then he'd probably still be in the mix. But he and Mul have played a massive amount of Rugby this season, vitually every minute of every game so I'm not too bothered about them missing a probable no win tour to NZ under Kidney. Better for us that they have a good off-season and pre-season as we head into HEC Ver 2.0...

Macca's also the wrong age profile to be breaking in for a contract at 31 , but it's great that he's picking up the odd cap here and there in recognition of his form over last couple of seasons and he's raising the bar for the rest of our squad....

The IRFU have reduced the number of central contracts, I think it's down to something like 22 now. Only the big hitters would expect to get a central contract these days, even if Macca was picked in the squad he would still have plenty of people ahead of him in the central contract sweepstakes.
