Cheers but it's not the €10 train journey from Clermont to Issoire that is the problem, but the €500 flight from London...
Was trying to figure out cheaper options, and I don't mind detours....
How about Ryanair to Nimes or Rodez. Drive from there via the Millau Bridge!

There was a "gentlemans agreement" that Newcastle would do a return fixture this August but we were let down after a recent change in management. Apparently Bath were very anxious to have us over but it was decided that 3 away trips in August was not a good idea.swift4prez wrote: As stated here. 2 preseason games confirmed. Indeed, on both counts...
Going mad trying to figure out airport options for Issoire from London, Clermont is the nearest possible, but expensive £400+. Would need to be able to get a train connection too...

Tickets in all areas are cheap as chips at £10 - www.eticketing.co.uk/wasps/details/event.aspx?itemref=813
Will probably try to work out a way to get to Issoire too if I can, though that may be a harder sell after the holidays.

Preseason Games Confirmed
08th July 2014
In preparation for the upcoming 2014/15 season, Connacht Rugby will play two away fixtures next month.
In early August, Head Coach Pat Lam will lead the senior squad to central France where they will take part in a rigorous week-long training session in Issoire. The away trip will conclude with a game against Top 14 heavyweights Clermont Auvergne on Friday, August 8th as part of the 2014 Chellenge Vaquerin tournament – a friendly competition held in France between Top 14 clubs and foreign clubs by invitation. Connacht took part in the annual French tournament for the first time last year, playing Castres Olypique in a close game that finished 43-31 in favour of the then French Champions.
The game in France is followed two weeks later by a clash with London-based club Wasps at High Wycombe on Saturday, August 23rd at 2:30pm. Tickets for Wasps v Connacht can be purchased through the Wasps Ticket Office from Friday 4 July on 0044 844 847 1867.
The regular PRO12 season is set to commence on the weekend of the 5/6/7 September and further league fixture details are expected to be announced in the coming days.
Connacht Pre-Season Fixtures:
Friday August 8th Clermont Auverne v Connacht Rugby Issoire
Saturday August 23rd Wasps v Connacht Rugby High Wycombe, 2:30pm

Good news for London (High Wycombe) Clan!
No doubt had something to do with our mole on the Wasps Marketing Team, Connacht man in exile (and former Connacht & Quins employee) Martin Fallon... @mairtfallon
