Not really. Anyone signing up now is paying more than the renewal/early-bird price we got, so it's swings and roundabouts really.

Can't help but feel they are a bit desperate to sell more. Numbers must be well down on last year!
No harm in it if it works but agree it all appears to be a bit of a slap for the people who renewed early.

Also would be great for holding cold pints and even to carry the booklet we got last year
A pin.... meh..
With Gloves, they'd need to be able to determine how many they need to order in different sizes and then have to facilitate collection so that people can get the right size.
Pins and Scarves work way better, anything that doesn't require sizing keeps the workload down.
Bottom line is who on earth buys a Season Ticket for a €5 Free gift..??
I doubt if anybody buys a season ticket for a free gift and I'm not sure what you are insinuating by that remark.
However, that's not the point. When Connacht Rugby advertise a free gift, it's nice trying to imagine what ideas they have in store. Last years booklet was a big let down. The pin is better but I think giving a hat/scarf/gloves puts more colour in the stands and creates a bit of atmosphere. I gave the gloves idea as an example. Using "different sizes" excuse is a bit rich seeing as a the hat was one size fits all.
Chillax - I'm insinuating nothing, simply stating that to me the free gift is a bonus and probably an unnecessary one at that. The Problem with free gifts also is that people usually expect more/better each year, and financially Connacht are not in the same place every season. Personally I'd rather all the money from my season ticket went to improving squad quality/facilities/getting the best coaches in place rather than getting some token back...
And in fairness if you're not a hat/scarf/glove wearing supporter usually, I'd say you're unlikely to wear one just because you get one (and usually lower quality to minimise costs) free in the post with your season ticket....

That said, I think that a hat or scarf is a better gift,
1 they are practical
2 they help to create an atmosphere with the colour they generate at games.
3 they advertise the Connacht brand away from the game when people wear them
4 if you already have a hat and scarf you will give it to someone else thus emphasizing no 3 above.
Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

Better than the present from last year at least. I dont collect pins, but I know some people who do. I'm sure it will go in a drawer somewhere to be shown to future generations who dont believe me, when I tell them how I had a season ticket for the season when Connacht first won the Pro 12
Pins are good, they are low cost (and lets face it the bigegr the "Gift" the more gets added to seasons ticket cost) and are handier for exchanging with visiting supporters than items of clothing. I always seem to come out worse on those transactions...

Should save on commission and have all orders in house.
Have renewed on joint account in the past but wanted my own this season. Phoned the 24hr ticket.ie a few times- no answer, emailed, waited a day, phoned branch got it done straight away, THEN got a reply from ticket. Very poor service. Well done the Branch direct
