That's unfortunate but understandable that you have to give up the season ticket. TV appearances are key to picking up and keeping casual fans, I believe sky are broadcasting the matches next year and I actually welcome this as I expect it could lead to red button options and hopefully better kick off times.

If you run games Friday nights you may as well change the name of the team to "Galway Rugby".
Saturday tea-time is pretty impractical for people who are playing/coaching/supporting underage/junior/AIL.
Best time would be 1900/1930/2000 on a Saturday but that's not a runner due to the dogs.
Hobson's choice for the branch in fairness.

The other issue is the mess on the European front. I'd have no issue if Connacht played in the Amlin next year (assuming structures stayed the same) - it's a competition we could do very well in and that could be very beneficial for league form. But we're now in March and have no idea what's facing us. Will there be Welsh teams in the Rabo? Will there be any English sides at all in Europe? I guess there's a good chance it'll all be cleared up before season tickets go on sale, but it's a big commitment to make when you don't know what you're buying.
And if there's anyone from the branch reading this, put me down in the anti-Saturday game brigade as well. I know it's different for everyone (as Sol outlined) but for me they're a lot more expensive because I've more travelling to do for them on account of work.

Sorry to hear that CC. I know it's not entirely in the hands of Connacht Rugby, but maybe droping them an email directly might be a good course of action.
My €0.02: I've always prefered the Friday evening games, I work in town and live a bit out, so it saves me the trip (plus, it was always nice to have a few pints on a Friday evening).
On the flipside, I know a lot of people simply wouldn't be able to make it to a 7 on a Friday game. My uncle is rugby mad, coaches with his local teams, his kids all played (and still play), tries to get to as many matches as he can, but he was never able to make it to the Friday games because he lives in Westport!
There's always a bit of a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Oh: you're right, there have been very few televised Connacht matches this year, especially if you look at the non-interpros.

I have been a season ticket holder since they were introduced, I have missed one home game in that period due to being stuck on a plane because of bloody snow. But I have come to the decision not to renew my ticket for next season. Nothing to do with the team and the on field performances, been a connacht fan you are used to frustrations, near misses etc. But if the matches are going to continue to be on at 5pm on a Saturday I have had enough. I have not missed a game this season but it has been bloody hard at times to make them, and quite franky its not worth the hassle and putting family out. I don't know the TV stats but I would say this has been the worst year for the TV camera's being at the sportsground as I can only remember them been there for two rabo games this season.
