Great to see Fifita and Nolan back from injury and the academy boys getting a good shot. That's a really exciting back line.

Anyone going to this?

Eagles Team named for Munster clash

Connacht Eagles’ Head Coach Nigel Carolan has named his side for the opening interpro game against Munster ‘A’ tomorrow at Musgrave Park, KO 5pm.

Munster Squad announced for fixture tomorrow vs Eagles in Musgrave Pk at 5pm. Strong enough squad, will be very interesting to see what our line-up is like in light of this selection. No point going to a gunfight with a knife... ;)

Munster A Squad Named

The Munster A squad open their season campaign on Wednesday evening in Musgrave Park with their first Inter-provincial clash against Connacht Eagles at 5pm.

The A squad recently underwent a change in management and this will be Head Coach Peter Malone’s first outing at the helm.

The strength in the pack is evident with senior players Duncan Casey, Alan Cotter, Billy Holland, Dave O’Callaghan and Barry O’Mahony named. They are joined by Highfield’s Paddy Ryan, who made an appearance against Gloucester in Munster’s opening pre-season game, and academy players Darren O’Shea and Shane Buckley.

In the backline Cian Bohane who made his second Rabo appearance against Edinburgh at the weekend is joined by academy players Rory Scannell, Darren Sweetnam and Johnny Holland who all saw game-time during the SEAT series.

The squad includes a mix of senior, academy and club players.

Please note there is no charge for the game in Musgrave Park and there will be no parking available inside the grounds. All support is welcome.

Munster A: Rory Scannell; Darren Sweetnam, Cian Bohane, Niall Kenneally, Harry McNulty, Jonathan Holland, Gerry Hurley (Capt.); Alan Cotter, Duncan Casey, Paddy Ryan, Billy Holland, Darren O’Shea, Dave O’Callaghan, Barry O’Mahony, Shane Buckley.

Replacements: Niall Scannell, Ger Sweeney, Niall Horan, Aaron McCloskey, Willie Ryan, Ryan Murphy, Brian Haugh, Steve Hansel, Rory White.

Should be able to make every game this year, great stuff. Extra value of the ST being shown this year.

I think the Eagles games are going to be more important than usual this year. It's a new coach who had a youth friendly policy who will be looking to see who can step up.

B&I Games back at the Sportsground I see. Good to have some idea of when A games are on, usually with the friendlies you'd find out on the Thursday that there's a friendly Friday afternoon. Hope to make the Leinster game to see how the team are going.

Fair play to Connacht Rugby for getting the fixtures out in time, it was a major criticism of them last year
