It's not the same when they cut out the naughty words. I thought Johnny had a speech impediment there.

This is on again tonight on TG4, 8pm. Really looking forward to seeing it again, it's a shame it was never released to buy, I'd love a copy of it. I've never even seen it available via more nefarious methods, not that'd I'd ever illegally download copyrighted material. Oh god no. I was checking purely for research.

Where's the link to yerman's article? I post pretty regularly on The Guardian (being a Londoner now, like), and the feedback was really positive. I made a bit of an appearance in it too, which was great to see. It was a really fantastic doc, put together very professionally and apparently they had over 80 hours of filming done, so very well edited too.

Fair play Sea Point, spotted your comment under the published drivel.

I left my 2 cents on another popular forum, and personally I think that having the documentary was brilliant, and having Connacht games broadcasted is brilliant, if its not up to some others peoples standards then fair enough, they can do without.

It wasn't a documentary for Connacht fans alone, so they had to pack in the essence of our history into an hour while also trying to encapsulate the story of the season and detail the main characters.

I'll always go on my initial instinct with TV and for this it was that it was very good. Yeah of course there were things I would have preferred to see, for me the journey should have been as much about the supporters as the team, for all the bullshit they have to take we take multiples every day and then go pay to watch them..

For what it was it was a solid 8/10 for me...

It reads more like he has a problem with TG4 rather than Connacht. I think we were just a convenient excuse for him to have a rant against them. Either way I wouldn't get up-set he seems to have issues so best to leave the poor boy off.

Meh, in this case I thought it was merited. We were massive underdogs, and rightly so for every game in the campaign. Hard to see how you could tell the story of last years campaign without that forming the backdrop.

Conlon could have made decent points if he wasn't so focused on trying to be some sort of backlash against the positive reception of the documentary. There was ample scope for constructive criticism but instead Conlon throws his sense of irony to the wind and bangs his drum in his haste to complain about a documentary banging a drum.

Agreed, there was a valid point there somewhere - particularly about the overuse of O'Neachtain, but he couldn't help himself.

The documentary wasn't as bad as he makes out, but it wasn't as good as others have said. There were certain issues I had with its production quality, its editing and I also felt like I'd been bludgeoned over the head with far too much underdog stuff.

And why he felt the need to start it with a party political broadcast is anyone's guess.

I don't know (nor care) who Tom Conlon is, but it's hard to take seriously anyone who employs this sort of scattergun approach. Connacht-born rugby players an coaches, TG4 and the film makers all get it in the neck. (If you're Billy Millard or Jerry Flannery, or anyone who isn't a beastly native you're ok). The real tell tale sound of an axe being ground is when he declares that JOC explaining that the sense of pride that a Connachtman playing for Connacht feels is no less than that that of any of the other provinces. Conlon mistakes this as 'discussing how they're perceived from the outside' and holds it up as more of the 'persecution complex'. Clearly the man has issues. Pay no heed.

Opinions are like arseholes..... Tommy Conlon's been writing out of his for years, wouldn't pay the slightest attention to him or the rag of a paper he writes for. They never have and never will understand Connacht.

Was also impressed with the documentary, you could tell they had their work cut out bringing it down to an hour in length. Most enjoyable, fair play to all involved.

That's got the making of a good game Seapoint:

"It'd be a cold day in hell before Montrose would..."

Let me start:

"...provide live coverage 4 of Connacht's opening 5 matches of the season."
