Connacht travel to Newport to play the Dragons in the last fixture before the November international break

A small Connacht Clan crew will be travelling over. Always room for a few more.

When: Friday November 4th, 19.15
Where: Rodney Parade, Newport

Tickets

Tickets are available online from the Dragons website. The Clan haven't decided on a precise location yet. Check the forum.

Getting there

Flights to Cardiff are available with Aer Lingus, thought they depart very early.

Best option is to fly to Bristol. There are direct buses from Bristol Airport to Newport.

Thursday night flights leave Dublin at 21.50 and arrive Bristol at 22.55. You can get a National Express coach at 00.15, arriving Newport at 01.05

The 12.30 flight on Friday arrives at 13.35. There is a bus from the airport at 14.45, arriving Newport 15.40

Coming back on Saturday you can get the 11.20 bus and get to the airport at 12.15 for the 14.00 flight to Dublin.

Accommodation

There are a few options in Newport, though a lot of the better hotels are on the outskirts of town. The Queen's Hotel is central and good value. The Travelodge is also cheap and well located.

Hospitality

Urban Tap House in the City Market building have a great range of beers. The Lamb and the Pen and Wig are good local pubs.

Things to see

The Newport Transporter Bridge is worth a look, if you're into weird bridges that seemed like a good idea at the time.
