I just want to bask in the glory for a moment of the Connacht Eagles playing the Newcastle Falcons B)
If Alex Saul wants to thank me personally he knows were to find me. (Under my bed hiding from Ummm) If he wants to hire me to come up with other gems like this I'm totally ready but for the moment Eagles vs Falcons!

At the end of the next season we can put a complication together of there greatest plays and call it 'The Best of the Eagles'. It's worth it for that alone.

In fairness, I can see the problem with 'Connacht A' in a competition like this, where every club barring the four provinces is an entity in its own right and putting out its first team. Then again, it is good enough for Barcelona B. Real Madrid have ditched the B and are now known as Real Madrid Castilla. The Eagles is a bit jarring at first, but if we get to sing Hotel California every game it will make it all ok.

Ouch I feel the bitterness from here. Anyway I think the majority are indifferent not against it.

When has there ever been any Ireland A or Ireland Wolfhounds merchandise ever sold? The Wolfhounds have been around since January and nothing has been made. Really can't see the sense in that point.

Yeah but a lot of people would confuse that. Personally I think it is just an extension of professionalism. People want "brands". Ireland A cannot sell merchandise, but the Irish Wolfhounds can.

NZ Maori isn't the NZ second string, it's an invitation side, like the barbarians.

Don't see the point of it really and seems a bit stupid .Connacht A,Ireland A etc for me .Did such a pattern start indirectly from the NZ Maoris i wonder.

Do you think that will happen? It can't cost that much more to run than playing A games throughout the season anyway and it gives alot of teams a shot at silverware who wouldn't be in the running like the Cornish Pirates for instance. Would be a shame to lose it as I think it's done alot of good to bring up players and get them used to cup tournament rugby.

That's awful harsh...

...on the goalposts.

True but they might give Niall O'Connor something to aim for...

As for calling it the Eagles instead of the A's I think it makes the A's a little more of a separate entity gives them more of their own identity. As for the B&I Cup I think that's a given that we all want to see us compete in it.

If it's still around when we do qualify, rumblings in UK that it will be dropped unless a sponsor can be found...
